This demo from the Adobe MAX conference last week gave me new hope for practical creative uses of generative AI. You don't need to be a graphic designer, or an Adobe user to get the nuance behind why this is important, and it's all around a the computer vision occlusion problem. As humans (Right? We’re all still humans? Good, just checking.) when we see an object, we can move ourselves around it and change our perspective. By contrast, when you show a computer an image, it cannot simply look around it to see what’s behind it. Show it a flat image of a horse, and it doesn’t know that we would infer there are two legs on the other side. Until now. Project Turntable can do just that, and what’s more, it can draw and adapt the perspective of flat, 2D illustrations for the artist. Check out the video below. This is a great “wow”moment for Gen-AI. As part of Adobe's "Sneaks", there's no guarantee that this will make it to a final product, but it was an incredible demonstration of creative, generative AI in action. #generativeAI #AdobeMAX #ProjectTurntable
