Here's how it works and what resource streams are involved: 🚛 Hymix Australia delivers leftover concrete to Moreton Bay Recycling for reprocessing. 🚧 Prime Concrete Developments sends rejected concrete sleepers to Jumbo Skip Bins Pty Ltd 🏠 Jumbo Skip Bins Pty Ltd recovers concrete, bricks, pavers, and roof tiles for Moreton Bay Recycling to recycle into new building materials. ♻️Moreton Bay Recycling recycles materials into aggregates and road bases, to supply local builders, plumbers, landscapers, and civil works. 🌳 If timber is collected during projects, Jumbo Skip Bins Pty Ltd sends it to Kennedy's Timbers as reclaimed timber for sustainable reuse. Proximity makes it possible, reducing transportation needs, eliminating costs, storage, increasing efficiencies and ultimately raising the bottom line! The founders of KATERRA are back in action. This time with a new playbook. One that recognizes the opportunity that land acquisition represents. This appears now more of a finance play, than a technology play. Whereby, technology presents the opportunity to reduce cycle time and therein serves to free up cash flow to repeat the cycle. The GP/LP model of RE housing development is beautiful so long as lenders continue to fund. The future challenge appears to stem from Switzerland with the advent of proposed regulation changes through Basel III which will serve to tighten lending standards and limit lenders' ability to lend, potentially slowing down the ability to turn-over property. It's a solid start to be tied into Silicon Valley sources of capital. Let's hope that Onx Homes demonstrates a good model where industrialized approaches to home building can thrive and offer great opportunities for creative and ambitious people.

As January comes to a close, this concludes our posts about each winner after an energized Top 10 launch on 01.10.24.   Context: Masons, bricklayers, tile setters, painters, and other jobsite employees who have to clean their tools are at the mercy of whatever water source is available at the construction site. In some cases, sinks are in fixed locations, so tradespeople have to take time to schlep their tools across the site to clean off paint, grout, and other materials in potable water. The waste then drains into sewer systems (or, in some cases, stormwater systems) and ends up in the watershed. With heavy use, the plumbing on these cleaning systems can clog, causing more delays and inconvenience. We are thrilled to share insights on addressing plastic construction waste, particularly focusing on closing the loop on pipes. 🚧🔄 Effective management and recycling of plastic pipes can significantly reduce their environmental impact. 🌿🌍 Plastic pipes, prevalent in construction, often end up in landfills where they persist for centuries. To mitigate this, it's essential to implement recycling programs that ensure these materials are reused rather than discarded. ♻️🛠️ Key steps include: - Identifying plastic pipe waste streams. 🔍 - Setting up dedicated recycling areas. 🗑️ - Training staff on proper sorting and recycling techniques. 📋 - Collaborating with suppliers for take-back programs, for example Marley's, HDPE and PVC take back scheme 🤝 - Partnering with local recyclers. 🚛 At EIC, we are committed to providing resources and training to help construction companies effectively manage their plastic waste.
