While enjoying an incredible incentive trip in Mykonos with my colleagues at Bluebird, we had the unique opportunity to connect on a deeper level through an exercise called 'Roots and Branches.' 🌿 One of the questions we explored was: Who you are as a person influences your role within Bluebird, and your role within Bluebird also shapes who you are as a person. So, what does the organization do for you? For me, Bluebird has broadened my horizons in many ways. I’ve had the chance to see more of the world, meet new and diverse people, and push myself beyond my comfort zone - which eventually gave me much more confidence! What does your organization do for you? And what do you want it to do for you? If these questions leave you reflecting, perhaps a talk with one of my colleagues at Bluebird could help you explore what you’re looking for in your professional life! 😉

💡 During #NationalEngineersWeek, we want to shine a spotlight on our business partner HarbisonWalker International. They recruit and hire top tier engineers who play a monumental role in shaping who Harbison Walker is as an organization. Who is HarbisonWalker International ❔ HWI is the largest supplier of refractory products and services in the United States, a member of Calderys, and the largest refractory industry research facility in North America. 🏭 #GivingBack is in their DNA 👨🔬 HWI has deep philanthropic roots that can be traced back over 160 years to the company’s founders Samuel Harbison and Clay Walker. Harbison was a man that believed, giving of time, effort, and money, should be a constant in one’s life. In 1997, the Harbison Walker Foundation was created to provide support financially to charitable organizations. Over one million dollars has been donated to hundreds of local and national organizations. 💰 As an engineer at HWI, not only do the career opportunities on the job allow the ability to create, build, and innovate, but off the job, they also allow for giving back to the community. As a result, an engineering career not only allows their engineers to grow professionally but also personally, which creates an exceptional work-life balance. 💼 If you are an engineer ⚙ who is also passionate about giving back, click below 👇 to explore all of their engineering opportunities. https://lnkd.in/d23tc6m #HarbisonWalker #engineering #careers #opportunity #jobs

I always cringe when I see a video of myself, but after watching a few times, it takes me back to how I felt back in December when I was in Nashville for Barge Design Solutions Corporate Orientation. We had our Annual Meeting in Nashville this past weekend, where the entire Barge team (and our families) were invited for a weekend at Opryland! The weekend only got me more excited for what's to come. Main takeaways: 1. Ownership: While Barge is privately held, our stock has out-performed most companies on the NYSE over the past 3 years and growth projections don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The ability to have ownership in the company you work for brings on a whole new level of excitement and authenticity to the day to day work. 2. Legacy: Barge's record of getting "selected when it matters the most" has led to an unbelievable portfolio of high profile projects around the Southeast. We are excited to continue that legacy here in South Carolina. 3. Impact: The work we do, whether it be for the private sector, state and local sector, or the federal government, has made a lasting impact on businesses, communities, patients, and our military. We are people taking care of people.

Every First Day at Work… Whether it’s at a bank, a school, or, like in my case, an engineering firm—there’s something universally similar about the first day. It’s a mix of excitement, nerves, and the overwhelming desire to make a good impression. You walk through those doors and realize it’s not just about the job; it’s about finding your place in a new world. But here’s the thing—every successful journey started with that first day. The key is to embrace it, learn from it, and use that energy to drive you forward. To everyone starting a new chapter: trust the process. We’ve all been there. 🎯 @My_First_Day_At_Work DIGGING DEEP ENGINEERING & MARINE LOGISTICS SERVICES LIMITED #NewBeginnings #FirstDay #CareerGrowth #TrustThe

Q: Do you enjoy working at difrnt.?? A: Yes, because my personal life is not affected. --- One of the things I really enjoy in my role is sitting down with each of my team members monthly. These aren’t meetings to dive into technicalities, rather we focus more on the human side of our professional lives. Today, I had one of those conversations with a colleague who joined our agency six months ago. As we discussed various topics, I asked her a simple question: "Do you enjoy working at difrnt.?" Her response caught my attention. She said yes, but what stood out was why. "Because my personal life hasn’t been affected," she explained. She went on to share that she was initially afraid that work would bleed into her personal life. But it didn’t. This conversation made something crystal clear to me: no amount of revenue growth can ever make up for an unhappy team. We’re conditioned to chase numbers, but if our people are drained and burnt out, it’s just a matter of time before productivity collapses. Thinking about including the happiness of my team as performance metric too.
