Barge’s Innovation Division recently worked with a water utility to tackle inefficiencies in its asset management and infrastructure maintenance. With data spread across multiple systems, the utility struggled to provide complete information when needed, leading to costly corrective maintenance. By integrating innovative technology with our traditional engineering services, we developed a tailored solution that included a new enterprise work order management system, streamlined information management, and the creation of Gopher—a seamless tool to search utility assets and create work orders. The results? The utility saved over $784,000 in maintenance costs in just nine months and reduced field personnel hours by more than 15,700! We’re proud to help our clients shift from reactive to proactive maintenance, ensuring smarter, more efficient operations. #Infrastructure #AssetManagement #Data #BargeDesignSolutions

Friday was a big day for the Tucker community. The City of Tucker formally broke ground for the Tucker Town Green near Main Street. It took me and others over four years of consensus building and trust building to get this property into the hands of the City. I have not been involved in the final design phase over the last two years. That responsibility has fallen to Barge Design Solutions, Parks and Rec, and the City Council. The plans have changed from the original concepts, but all the essential elements are in place. The Green will go a long way towards supporting Tucker businesses and the larger community. Tuckerites love to be together. To eat, chat, and to meet new people. I’m sure there will be plenty of all three when the project is completed a year from now. When that day comes, I look forward to seeing each of you at the Tucker Town Green.

If you haven't signed up, it's not too late to attend the Barge Design Solutions hosted Imagining Tricentennial Park Collaborative Workshop that will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, 11:30-1:00 at the TN State Capitol. I'll be moderating a discussion with Kem Hinton, Tim Netsch and Ann McGauran to kick us off to set the stage for us to envision a park that celebrates the past and projects its aspirations into the next century. It's also my birthday, so come celebrate with me!

Soon to be the region’s first aviation hangar school, Butler Tech broke ground on a facility that will offer dynamic learning environments and real world experiences for students pursuing careers in aviation maintenance, engineering, private pilot training, and unmanned aircraft systems. This is an exciting time for the region, especially Middletown as they are centrally located between Dayton International Airport, Dayton Wright Brothers Airport, Wright Patterson AFB, and CVG Airport. Shoutout to the amazing design team. Yesterday, we hosted an impactful discussion at our Nashville office on the Choose How You Move referendum. The “What You Should Know Before the Vote” session covered details of the proposed plan, which is on the ballot for Davidson County voters. The transportation improvement program would target sidewalks, public transportation, traffic signals, and transportation safety. The event featured presentations from Michael Briggs, AICP, Director of Transportation Planning for the Metro Nashville Mayor’s Office, and Jessica Dauphin, President/CEO of the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee. An insider panel moderated by Barge’s Rachel Back, P.E., CFM, offered crucial insight on the referendum from Nashville Department of Transportation Director Diana Alarcon, CAPP, WeGo Public Transit CEO Steve Bland, and HNTB Director Robbie Hayes, AICP. #ChooseHowYouMove #Transit #Transportation #Nashville #BargeDesignSolutions TRANSIT ALLIANCE OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE INC
