3hA reminder about public office: late today I walked out of my local grocery store and someone said “Gael Tarleton”! It was a former constituent whom I hadn’t seen since Covid lockdown in 2020. He said “ you’ve left politics and aren’t in the mix anymore, are you?” I told him I’d retired this past March. We talked for about 30 minutes and then I said I needed to head home to make meatballs. He said “I’ll never forget that day I saw you putting up your own yard signs and I said to myself “she’s out there pounding in her own signs. I’m going to vote for her!” Yet another reminder that the people who vote, pay attention to how their elected officials behave when no one is watching. #electionsmatter #constituentsrule
