Since Spicer Landfill became a Tyrewise location at the start of September, more than 1100 used tyres have been dropped off. Ka pai Porirua! 👏 That adds up to more than 13 tonnes of used tyres diverted from the landfill and kept out of our streams and harbour. As part of the nationwide product stewardship scheme, these tyres will be sent to different companies where they will gain a new life as playground matting, sportsgrounds or in cement production. Other benefits we’ve seen so far at Spicer Landfill include space freed up that was previously used for stockpiling old tyres, and time that went towards shredding and burying the tyres can now be focused elsewhere. Up to five old tyres can be dropped off at a time at Spicer Landfill free of charge (by the public - no businesses sorry!), so long as the tyres are clean and do not have rims. https://lnkd.in/gspvfzHz

Alongside Vale of White Horse District Council, we are pleased to confirm that we have agreed to extend our joint contract with waste contractor, Biffa, for two more years. The contract, covering one of the country’s most successful residential waste collection services, will now run until June 2026. Our joint contract with Biffa has run for 14 years in South Oxfordshire and 13 years in Vale of White Horse – during this time recycling rates have risen to 64% in South and 63% in Vale in 2023. In the ranking of top ten recycling authorities in England, this puts both districts in the top five – with South Oxfordshire second, and Vale of White Horse fourth, respectively. And in a recent survey of residents, an impressive 82% of respondents expressed satisfaction, or high satisfaction, with the overall quality of the service provided. 🚛♻️ Roll On/Roll Off Trucks: The Backbone of Recycling and Waste Management! ♻️🚛 Meet the Roll On/Roll Off truck, the solution for getting waste and debris efficiently removed from construction and demolition sites, also known as dumpster trucks! 🏗️ At first glance, they may seem like trucks without a body, just a cab and chassis, but these powerful machines are equipped with a roller chassis onto which a dumpster is loaded and unloaded, making them the workhorses of the recycling and waste refuse industry. 🔄 Here's how they work: A “ RoRo truck ” arrives with an empty dumpster and unloads it at the site. Then, it's all hands on deck as contractors fill the dumpster with up to 10 tons of waste and debris! Once full, the dumpster can is loaded back onto the truck's chassis and disposed of properly. Multiple containers can be filled and moved with one roll-off truck, so it is extremely efficient for waste refuse and construction businesses working in multiple locations or at extremely large cleanup sites.💪 From debris and refuse removal to disaster and accident cleanup, our roll off trucks are designed to tackle it all. With capacities ranging from 20,000 to 75,000 pounds, we've got the perfect cleanup truck solution for businesses in the waste refuse industry. Contact us today to learn more! 🌟 Read more and watch a roll off truck in action here: https://lnkd.in/ew8MsQnN #Sustainability #RollOffTrucks #Recycling #WasteManagement #Construction #Demolition #EastCoastTruckandTrailerSales #ECTTS

This title caught my attention as I find cigarette butts as one of the most frequent litter in the environment. I think that finding the way to collect them is very crucial because as in every case you need to collect first to be able to reuse or recycle the resource (waste). In this case the collection topic is presumably solve by placing a special containers only for cigarette butts but is it enough to encourage people to use them... but the first step is done and I am interested how the project will evolve! #slovakia #cigarettebutts #littering #separatecollection #waste #collection https://lnkd.in/dPydwRhg
