96 years of wisdom is worth listening to. Three of my favorite lessons from Blacksher: 1. Day 1 at WSR: If someone telling you NO doesn’t spark your interest then you best leave this office right now. 2. There is an ethical way to go about converting a no to a yes and if you are willing to work hard, get creative, and execute it usually leads to success for both parties and a life long friendship. 3. Never leave the office without a listing agreement. I still see and absorb the wisdom he passed down to others on a daily basis. Blessed to be with an awesome firm who cares less about occupation and more about people and relationships.

Season 1 is almost over. I'm not talking about any new Bing or any of that, I'm talking about reserve service of 2 month as an IDF soldier. Since early October many of us, brave men and women, left everything behind, and went to the unknown, in honor and remembrance of those who was brutally murdered or kidnapped by Hamas Nazis. for one reason only - they was born Jewish, well, the majority of them. Unfortunately pure evil doesn't spare anything or anyone. I'm ending my first round of service with great sense of gratitude and honor, the task of eliminating the threat, both from the Southern and Northern boarder is far from being done, but from what I've met and felt so far, we will get it done. I'd like to send another message in this post and it's the Work-Service conflict. As I mentioned, many young working men and women had to stop their normal day-to-day life, to serve and sometimes risking and giving their lives, for a greater than ever purpose. As a manager and as a person, I have a great company and friends at Better, but I've already heard of work places who pushes their recruited employees to end their service, for the sake of the company. I see that as a great shame, disgraceful act, and lack of healthy moral standards. I plead every manager and executive to act differently, to respect and to honor those who serve, even if they are not "front liners". They serve, they left kids, wives, husband's, parents, brothers, sisters, cats and dogs (I kid you not, for some they are family). The least we can do, is to respect that, and to understand the already difficult situation. Today I preached on Micah's ancient vision of just peace--not just the absence of violence and fear, but the presence of livelihoods, shelter, food, and security. Swords into ploughshares. I invited celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights-. Rights are the foundation of justice and peace. Weseek not just the absence of war, but the presence of human rights. Today we remember those who died pursuing human rights, who were murdered for following after the things that make for peace. May they be present in our hearts and in the struggle for rights to be made real. In every war across our globe we need not just ceasefire, although this is a most necessary beginning, but we need the progressive realization of human rights. We need the things that make for peace, that sustain peace. In this pursuit, we have work to do everywhere.
