VISTELAR – WORKING TOGETHER WITH HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS It’s not enough just to tell healthcare staff to stop letting people behave disrespectfully or that conflict or violence is just “part of the job”; that’s just a path to more conflict. What you need to do is train them WHEN and HOW to do it, and know the difference between antisocial gateway behavior and crisis behavior. Both are common problems in healthcare and need to be addressed in different ways. So how can healthcare professionals recognize the difference between these behaviors and learn the tools to tackle and even prevent conflict from occurring? Why, with Vistelar’s training of course! 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 High injury rates in nursing homes contribute to staggering turnover rates, with 𝟯𝟴% of staff planning to leave within two years. This turnover intensifies workloads for remaining staff, leading to more injuries and a decline in care quality for residents. To stabilize the workforce, nursing homes must prioritize occupational health solutions. Here’s how: 🔹On-site or near-site occupational health services for immediate care. 🔹Prevention and wellness programs to preempt injuries and illnesses. 🔹Expert occupational health teams for tailored care. Implementing these strategies can create a safer work environment, enhance employee satisfaction, and improve resident care quality. 𝟱 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 As a Registered Nurse and the founder of Tarrays, I've learned firsthand the importance of having a strong and cohesive team in the aged care sector. Here are five tips to help you build and maintain a robust team in your aged care facility: 1. Talk to one another: Make sure everyone shares information and ideas. Encourage an environment where staff can discuss resident needs, share updates, and brainstorm solutions. Ensure that everyone feels comfortable expressing their thoughts and concerns, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone's input is valued. 2. Learn and grow: Training helps staff do their best. Offer workshops and courses to improve skills. Provide opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge through workshops, courses, and on-the-job training. By investing in their professional growth, you empower your team to deliver exceptional care to residents. 3. Work together: Collaboration is key to success in aged care. Foster a culture where staff support and rely on each other, pooling their expertise to provide comprehensive care to residents. 4. Say thanks: Recognise and celebrate the efforts and achievements of your team members. Whether it's a simple "thank you" or a formal recognition program, acknowledging their hard work boosts morale and motivation. 5. Happy place: Cultivate a positive and supportive work culture where staff feel valued, respected, and appreciated. Promote work-life balance, provide opportunities for social interaction, and address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain a happy and healthy workplace. By implementing these tips, you can build a cohesive and dedicated aged care team that is committed to providing the best possible care for residents.

The home health care industry is experiencing significant growth, with an increasing number of healthcare professionals, such as nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, aides, speech therapists, and social workers, joining this field. This trend offers numerous benefits, including enhanced income opportunities and personalized care for patients. However, it also presents unique challenges and risks to the safety and health of these workers. Unlike traditional healthcare settings, home health care professionals work in environments beyond their control—the patients’ homes. These settings can expose them to various hazards, ranging from infectious diseases to potential violence. To navigate these risks effectively and ensure their well-being, home health care workers must adopt stringent safety measures. This article provides a comprehensive safety checklist designed to help home health care workers maintain a secure and healthy working environment. https://lnkd.in/gk7HnBpY
