I’ve stopped hiding! 💅 🚨 In 2016 I would go to get my hair braided and fight for a Saturday appointment. It would take 7-10 hours and I couldn’t be fussy about who braided it because I was a victim of the weekend. 🏝️ By 2021 I was going to the braiders and taking A/L one day every full day that I went to get my hair done. That adds up! 🫣 By 2023 I realised that I was working at the hair braiders, so I needed to stop taking A/L. But I didn’t tell people where I was going. I was like a spy on the DL. 🙌🏽By 2024, I eventually decided to stop hiding. It takes 5-7 hours of my day to get my hair braided. I get loads of work done. Feel free to give me a call, but this is a work day like any other. 💆🏾♀️If you want to debate how presenteeism in workplaces isn’t healthy and delve into the impact on marginalised communities, ask a black women how many hours it takes her hair to get did. Ask her if she fits that into her weekend? What do these three brands have in common? Hint: Florencia Cavallo and I are passionate about elevating mission-driven brands and smart founders, and we wanted to highlight just a few of the incredible companies we've had the privilege of collaborating with. 🤰 Bumpsuit: Redefining maternity wear, Nicole Trunfio’s Bumpsuit is dedicated to supporting mothers throughout every stage of motherhood. Nicole is on a mission to address one of life’s most significant and vulnerable transitions, normalizing conversations that are often stigmatized. The brand has gained media attention from the likes of Grazia, The Zoe Report, NY Post Style, People, and more. 💧 Hazel: This luxe femme care brand is reshaping the narrative around menopause and aging. Hazel is working to remove the stigma associated with leakage and redefine its cultural relevance. We’ve been thrilled to support Aubrey Hubbell in disrupting the $600 billion menopause market and giving it the recognition it deserves with features in Vogue, WWD, Glamour, InStyle, and more. The brand recently rolled out across Meijer stores in the US, and they’re just getting started. 🌿 Nourie: Pioneered by Black female founder Osahon Ojeaga, Nourie offers the world’s first sustainable plant-based braiding hair that nourishes the scalp. Osahon raised $2.5M to launch the brand, which has garnered attention from Bustle, Allure, Essence, WWD, and Business Insider. She’s breaking barriers and creating opportunities for Black women in an industry that needs more diversity. Still curious to know what unites these brands? Each of them was founded by trail-blazing women, built with purpose and intention, and is on a mission to revolutionize their respective categories. We love partnering with visionary entrepreneurs to help their businesses take shape and thrive. Interested in learning more, sharing your thoughts, or discussing your needs? Get in touch! 👋

"We tell girls a simple story: Get your period around twelve. Repeat every twenty-eight days. Deal with some pain. Have some babies. Then more periods. And then around fifty, your body is meant to politely retire. But it’s never that simple." It’s our responsibility as men to know the lay of our lady's landscape. Whether it be our wives, or daughters, to know how to have the conversations in the most sensitive, aware, conscious way. To not shame any part of it. To not rear back from it. To not feel nervous about any part of the dialogue. To help the women in our lives feel safe enough to talk about every aspect of it, so we can be the safe place when they need us most. This video… an incredible shifter in perspective... because every story starts inside a womb. A womb of creation, of inspiration... inside the womb of your mother, and her mother and every mother up the line for all of time. Every hidden drop of blood. Every shameful whisper. Every embarrassing thought. Every apology uttered for being human... ...stops us from sharing these moments and supporting each other. We get to change the conversation by the way we have the conversation. As men. We need more conversations about all of this, wholehearted, unabashed and utterly open. Emotional and human. We need to understand where we come from and the lay of the land so we can support the women in our lives more consciously as the men we know they need... It's time to be everything we can be, for those we love wherever they are on their journey in life. STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING... ...and watch what's probably the Ad of the Year. The #wombstories campaign for Bodyform, created by AMVBBDO + Framestore and directed by Emmy winner Nisha Ganatra, is a masterpiece of craft and message. Truly, truly, bloody brilliant (pun intended).

Wow, what a powerful video. The love, the pain, the hate, the grief Every person's experience is different, and we need to create environments where everyone feels safe to be open about their experiences and better support one another. Every morning, as I catch my reflection, I tell myself that this white hair isn't just a tally of years; it's a crown of wisdom, a collection of victories, big and small, and a treasure trove of lessons earned. It's the hallmark of a life embraced with zest, of a woman who's grown not just older, but bolder, with a well of knowledge and stories ready to be shared. This week I delivered my A4 speech - Developing Audience Rapport with the title ‘Barbie’ to challenge any preconceived ideas and to induce a reaction from the audience. Seen as a conventional doll by some and viewed as too progressive by others, Barbie has been chanted at women’s strikes for equality whilst admired for not being an accessory to a husband, family and household. Barbie is the centre of her own world! Based on the German Bild Lilli doll, which was sold as a novelty adult doll to men in bars, tobacco kiosks and adult stores, Barbie was interestingly named after the creators (Ruth Handler co-founder of Mattel) daughter. With an impossible teeny waist, generous boobs and unbendable legs (?🦵) girls not only wanted to own a Barbie, they wanted to be Barbie! Was this doll created by a women, for girls to play with a trail blazer or a male fantasy? I’ll let you be the judge of that! I passed my assignment (whilst winning Inspirational Speaker) and move onto my final speech ‘The Showpiece’ in late Autumn. Being part of the ASC has taught me so many skills. It has tested me time and time again (especially with impromptu speaking) highlighting the positive aspects of my speaking skills and clearly evaluating the areas to work on. This has built my confidence and my ability to speak on a wide range of topics. If you are thinking of improving your public speaking skills, I couldn’t recommend joining a local ASC club enough. #publicspeaking #confidence #leadership #work #menopause #training #womeninbusiness

🌐 CEO of LOVJOY Pilates | Founder of the LOVJOY Pilates & Wellness App | Build your Pelvic Floor & Core Strength from Home | Spine Lover & Mother | Recovering from 20 years in the digital world of movies...
I came across this ad which really struck me and I had to share here. It uses a mix of AI and creative animation to dive deep into some of the most intimate aspects of women’s lives—everything from menstruation to making love, getting pregnant, and giving birth to menopause. It’s the kind of thing we don’t often see talked about openly, let alone depicted so vividly. What’s powerful about this ad is how it uses technology and art to bring these private experiences into the open. It challenges the taboos around them and invites us to have honest conversations about what it means to be a woman. By normalizing these experiences, the ad helps shift the narrative from something hidden to something we can discuss freely. As a Pelvic Floor Expert and Pilates trainer, this really hits home for me. The processes shown—menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth—are so central to my work and to the well-being of the women I support. Seeing them portrayed in this way is a powerful reminder of why it’s so important to break down these taboos and foster a more open dialogue about women’s health. Yes, the ad is bold and maybe even a bit provocative, but it’s also necessary. How we talk about these parts of life really matters. Normalizing these conversations is crucial for women’s health and empowerment. I’d love to hear your thoughts. How do you feel about this ad? Can these kinds of portrayals help us move toward a healthier, more open understanding of our bodies and lives? #WomensHealth #PelvicFloorHealth #AI #ArtForChange #BreakingTaboos #Wellness #Empowerment #OpenConversation #WomensEmpowerment #HealthAwareness #loveyourselfenjoylife LOVJOY Pilates
