Huge thanks to our amazing corporate supporters for their incredible efforts at this year’s Fringe! The enthusiasm and love we see from our volunteers towards Waverley Care is extraordinary, and they receive our utter admiration for working through all kinds of weather (it’s summer in Scotland, after all), engaging with the public at The Pleasance and telling them about the essential work that Waverley Care does throughout Scotland. This year, we had more teams than ever before, and we’d like to thank abrdn, Baillie Gifford, Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley, NatWest, Wood Mackenzie and User Testing for giving up their time to raise money for Waverley Care. A special shoutout to Team NatWest for smashing records with an incredible £1,747.64 raised and to Team Baillie Gifford for the highest single shift total of £1,043.19! 🏆 We had more teams than ever, and we can’t wait to welcome you all back in 2025 for another round of friendly competition. #Fringe2024 #BigCorporateShakeUp #WaverleyCare #Grateful

On Saturday, our Policy and Campaigns Officer Anna represented Waverley Care on a panel at #SNP24 hosted by Terrence Higgins Trust and Out For Independence about ending new HIV transmission in Scotland by 2030. We were also joined by the Minister for Public Health and Women's Health Jenni Minto. The panel discussed issues such as the need to end HIV stigma, ensuring everyone in Scotland can access HIV testing and prevention without barriers, and our key political asks of a Scottish National HIV Testing Week and better access to PrEP. An important point was raised around ensuring the voices of people living with HIV are prioritised in all work that we do, and ending stigma must go beyond 2030 to ensure good quality of life for everyone living with HIV. Thank you to Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland and Out For Independence for having us at their event, and to the Minister for taking time out of her busy schedule to discuss these vital issues with us. Scotland can be the first country in the world to end new HIV transmission and HIV stigma - we just need clear actions, commitment, and resource. #GetToZero

We are delighted to have received a generous grant from the Morrisons Foundation to refurbish the residents' bedrooms at our Milestone Intermediate Care Unit in Edinburgh. This grant will go towards purchasing new bedroom furniture and fitting new flooring and carpets in two bedrooms so our residents can enjoy better living standards and recover well. Thank you so much Morrisons for supporting Waverley Care 🫂
