Understanding the science behind seepage is crucial for designing safe and efficient hydraulic structures. 🌊💡 In my latest exploration of irrigation engineering, I’ve dived into Bligh’s, Lane’s, and Khosla’s theories on seepage and uplift pressure. From creep length calculations to exit gradient considerations, these principles shape the way we build for stability and longevity. Let’s engineer smarter solutions for water conservation and infrastructure resilience! #CivilEngineering #HydraulicStructures #SeepageControl

As Civil Engineers, we're constantly seeking innovative solutions to optimize water supply systems. Borehole drilling offers a cost-effective and sustainable way to supply water for various applications, from irrigation and livestock farming to industrial processes and household consumption. Key benefits of borehole drilling include: 1. Reduced reliance on municipal water and lower water bills 2. Independent water source during droughts or shortages 3. Versatility in application 4. Environmentally friendly with proper maintenance However, it's essential to consider the initial investment, legal compliance, site-specific factors, and maintenance requirements. Do you think that the development of efficient and sustainable water supply systems is through borehole drilling? #BoreholeDrilling #WaterSupplySystems #CivilEngineering

💧 Cracking the Code of Water (From Snowmelt to Irrigation): A Deep Dive into Surface-Subsurface Water Dynamics 🚰 I’m thrilled to share that my latest research article, "Modeling Agro-Hydrological Surface-Subsurface Processes in a Semi-Arid, Intensively Irrigated River Basin", has been officially accepted in Journal of Hydrology: Regional Studies! 🎉💧 This study focuses on the Lower Arkansas River Basin (LARB) in Colorado, USA, a heavily irrigated, semi-arid region. By enhancing the SWAT+ model with new features such as groundwater flow (gwflow), canal seepage, and daily irrigation management, we quantified critical hydrologic fluxes like recharge, runoff, and groundwater-river interactions — key insights for water resource management in irrigation-dominated systems. This work offers new methodologies for simulating irrigation-dominated systems and opens the door for future studies to explore climate change impacts, irrigation practices, and aquifer dynamics in other semi-arid regions across the globe. 🌍 I’m incredibly grateful to my collaborators and mentors who made this possible. 🙏 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gBR5-XJ8 CSU Civil and Environmental Engineering #Hydrology #WaterManagement #Irrigation #Groundwater #SWATPlus #ClimateChangeAdaptation #HydrologicModeling

It somehow seems like the Department of Irrigation and Drainage under Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation has decided to go entrepreneurial, and expanded their scope of business. Is this an attempt to make up the financial impact caused by recent pay hike for civil servants?
