🎧 I recently listened to the CRM Success Secrets Podcast where Sue Dahill shares some common onboarding mistakes that can hinder client success. As the Head of Growth, sales and client onboarding fall within my scope, so this concise podcast was such a great reminder of the importance of understanding the client onboarding journey and the friction points that can be avoided. Here are the five key mistakes made during the onboarding phase: 📝 No Formal Onboarding Skipping a structured onboarding process can leave clients feeling lost and unsupported. Ensure you have a clear plan in place. 🔄 Conflicting Messaging During Onboarding Inconsistent messages confuse clients. Align your team to deliver a cohesive and clear onboarding experience. 🧩 Making Onboarding Too Complex Overloading clients with information can overwhelm them. Simplify the process and provide clear, step-by-step guidance. Checklists for onboarding is a great tool to simplify onboarding. ⏰ Finishing Onboarding Too Soon Onboarding should be a phased approach. Client check-ins that should not be missed are: 3️⃣ days - this is when a consumer tends to experience the most buyers remorse. 3️⃣ weeks - this is an opportunity to drive value by exposing underused system functionality. 3️⃣ months - this is a ideal checkpoint to asses and revise system usage and provide improvements. 🚀 Launching a Product Without an Onboarding Plan Never launch without a detailed onboarding strategy.
