🌟 My Journey to Finding My Why 🌟 Do you know your Why? "Jennifer, what do you want to do?" "Jennifer, what are you passionate about?" These were among the questions I received after being laid off last summer. Great questions! I had always said my boys were my why. While that is still true, I found as an empty nester this year, I pondered the depth of that statement. Initially, I took myself through the same process I’ve taken executives and just wasn’t satisfied with my answers. So, I turned to Simon Sinek’s book, Find Your Why, recruited a partner and dove in. Here's what I discovered: My Why: To connect and collaborate with others, bringing together diverse experiences and ideas to shape compelling, clear, and concise communication so that we have a positive impact on the world and leave it a better place for future generations. How do I achieve this? I do so by: 1. Forming deep relationships: Making others feel seen, heard, and valued. 2. Fostering understanding: Encouraging empathy and mutual comprehension. 3. Harnessing the power of storytelling: Utilizing narratives to inspire, inform, and unite. 4. Collaborating with diverse communities: Working together to leverage our collective strengths. It was a useful exercise, offering newfound clarity about my aspirations and how I wish to allocate my time. While I was already engaging in activities that supported my values, this process enabled me to precisely articulate my values and ensure they resonate within my Why. I am thankful to my partner in this journey who helped me see themes in my stories—you truly need someone to navigate this path alongside you. I also thank my friends for sharing why I matter to them, and my colleagues for helping me recognize the unique value I bring to the table. Finding your Why is not merely a destination but a continuous evolution—a journey of self-discovery and alignment with your true purpose which helped illuminate my path more brightly. ✨ #FindYourWhy #PurposeDriven #MeaningfulLife
