The public sector provides vital services and care to communities across the UK, from the vulnerable to those just looking for a place to learn and socialise. Their importance cannot be underestimated but many are struggling to stay open. That’s why we want to highlight the role 5G Standalone can play in saving them – saving £580 million of taxpayer money, while also helping to decarbonise the public estate. This is why as part of the proposed merger, Vodafone UK and Three UK have committed to rolling out 5G Standalone at pace, investing £11 billion over ten years and delivering 5G SA to 99% of the UK population by 2034. As part of this, Vodafone UK and Three UK have also committed to delivering 5G SA to every school and hospital across the nation by 2030. https://lnkd.in/gSKEypq5 #TogetherWeCan #TheNationsNetwork #Connectivity #5GSA #PublicSector
Our new research has revealed that the UK’s local councils could save £580 million of taxpayer money per year and save energy in public buildings like schools, hospitals and leisure centres. Public services and their facilities are a lifeline for many people, from providing vital health care to offering a sense of community for others. Their importance cannot be underestimated but many are struggling. Modelling conducted by WPI Strategy has shown 92% of respondents are worried about the future of their local facilities and three-quarters (77%) have already seen libraries, leisure centres and even schools close due to a lack of council funding. This is why as part of the proposed merger, Vodafone UK and Three UK have committed to rolling out 5G Standalone at pace, investing £11 billion over ten years and delivering 5G SA to 99% of the UK population by 2034. A new era for mobile services competition and consumer choice in rural and regional Australia is upon us, as the ACCC today cleared our game-changing regional network sharing agreement. This innovative agreement will trigger a fundamental reset of competition and choice for mobile services across Australia as TPG Telecom more than doubles its geographic mobile coverage for the benefit of Australians living, working and connecting right across the nation. Our Chief Executive, Iñaki Berroeta, put it best: "Our regional network sharing arrangement will deliver better service and coverage to our five and a half million mobile customers who will gain access to around 600,000 square kilometres of new coverage, more than doubling the size of TPG Telecom’s national mobile network.” “The expansion of our regional mobile network will drive growth in our customer base in regional and metropolitan areas. It will allow us to win and retain customers in the cities who need reliable mobile service when they travel to the bush and customers in the regional areas looking for a different choice of provider.” We are excited about the opportunity to extend the reach of our award-winning mobile services to even more people and businesses, delivering more competition and choice to all Australians. Public services play an important role for communities and towns across the UK, but many are struggling with rising costs and squeezed funding. That’s why our most recent research shows how they could make significant savings on energy using a 5G Standalone network - £580 million of taxpayer money, while also helping to decarbonise the public estate to be precise. We need to protect our public buildings like hospitals, schools, leisure centres and police stations. This is why as part of the proposed merger, Vodafone UK and Three UK have committed to rolling out 5G Standalone at pace, investing £11 billion over ten years and delivering 5G SA to 99% of the UK population by 2034. During SHLB’s recent member call, Shauna Edson, Senior Policy Manager, NDIA, shared that: To help households navigate and evaluate low-cost internet plans, NDIA created a new rating system called NDIA GIG (Grading Internet for Good). This system evaluates plans on cost, transparency, speed, performance, and eligibility criteria, reflecting lessons learned from the ACP. NDIA’s Honor Roll of Low-Cost Internet Plans website now features an inaugural list of plans from 10 ISPs, each with a GIG rating. More plans will be evaluated in the coming weeks and months. NDIA GIG assigns plans a “Good,” “Better,” or “Best” score, considering factors like: ☑ Cost ☑ Eligibility ☑ Speed ☑ Data caps ☑ Latency ☑ Throttling ☑ Pricing transparency ☑ Technology type This rating system: ☑ Sets a standard for ISPs, encouraging them to improve affordable internet plans ☑ Serves as a valuable resource for digital inclusion organizations, digital navigators, and public interest groups ☑ Promotes the use of broadband consumer labels for pricing transparency, with Comcast Internet Essentials and Internet Essentials Plus already displaying these labels without requiring personal information Follow the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) to learn more. #DigitalEquity #DigitalInclusion

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚'𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? The article discusses significant changes in Australia's telco industry, revealing that TPG Telecom and Telstra are entering a new phase of competition and collaboration. TPG is set to decommission its Vodafone network to utilise Telstra's infrastructure, marking a shift towards more efficient resource utilisation. This move is expected to enhance service quality and coverage for consumers, fostering a more competitive market. However, it also raises questions about the long-term implications for network diversity, resilience and regulation in the industry. LTV Partners believes this shift underscores the necessity for telco companies to focus on strategic partnerships and infrastructure sharing. By leveraging each other's strengths, companies like TPG and Telstra can reduce operational costs and invest more in innovation and customer experience. For smaller telcos and new entrants, the key will be to identify niche markets and unique value propositions that differentiate them from larger competitors. Adapting to these changes proactively can position them better for future growth. Reach out to LTV Partners today to explore how your business can navigate these shifts and leverage new opportunities in the telco industry. 🔗https://lnkd.in/gd4QAtqR #TelecomTransformation #Telstra #TPGInnovation
