Breaking into MedTech? Here's what many innovation leaders miss before starting their first product development project: Most founders & leaders underestimate healthcare's complexity - especially in the U.S. Unlike consumer products, success in MedTech isn't just about building great solutions — it's about navigating a maze of regulations, stakeholders and systems. The key? Understanding that every "no" is a guardrail, not a roadblock. Success requires: • Healthcare knowledge • Strategic planning • Persistence through regulatory challenges • An experienced design firm that partners with you like an extension of your team with subject matter experts like Nova's Margaux Boyaval, VP Client Partnerships, Healthcare & Life-sciences Have questions about navigating healthcare complexity? Let's connect! Margaux Boyaval is headed to the 43rd Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference next week (January 13-16) in San Francisco. DM us if you'd like to meet in person or virtually ahead - or say hello@wearenova.com! ✅ Success = Understanding Healthcare + Strategic planning + Resilience + the right Partners ✅ #MedTech #HealthTech #Innovation

Is going global a necessity or a privilege for healthcare innovations? 🤔 I’ve been thinking about this question a lot lately. This seems to be a dilemma: 🤔 Healthcare is expensive, requires a long journey, and a risky business compared to other industries. Only if it reaches a global scale can it maximise its impact and returns. Otherwise, it is too luxurious an endeavour for just one innovation to go through the whole process, exhausting all resources, to serve just one market. However, 🤔 Going global seems more difficult for healthcare given the current mindset, resource, and regulation gaps. In reality, healthcare is still very local with most players taking a market-to-market approach. It seems like only the “big boys” in healthcare have the resources to do so. So, big players become bigger! And often times, small players without the right reach and resources – no matter how innovative their solutions – don’t survive. How is this going to motivate healthcare innovators? Can we make it more achievable for local innovators to go global? Is going global a necessity or a privilege for healthcare innovations? I don’t have all the answers, but I’m interested to hear what others think. Next Thursday, we will hear more opinions on this very topic from different people in the healthcare innovation through our very first Discovery webinar. 👂🏼 In fact, we’ll have: 💡An innovator sharing his real-life experiences and challenges in commercialising his innovation in multiple markets 💡A surgeon on whether an innovation’s multi-market presence matters in a clinician’s perception in terms of reliability when it comes to adopting new technology 💡A Europe healthcare market expert on the biggest challenges in innovators face when trying to enter Europe 💡A patent lawyer on the legal considerations when innovators venture overseas 💡A VC on whether having a multi-market appeal is a key consideration when assessing a healthcare innovation as an investment target If this topic interests you, feel free to join us online for 60 mins on 18 July by registering here: https://lnkd.in/gRF2Fvwn It is open to everyone and anyone involved or thinking about getting in the healthcare innovation space.
