How do you keep a customer when they won’t feel the impact of your product for up to 90-180 days? I found a brand that is doing an exceptional job at conquering the delayed gratification that so many supplements have to overcome when getting their consumers to commit. Check out these Mitopure Softgels from Time Line. Supplements that promise to improve your cellular health by delivering 6x more Urolithin A than can be found naturally in drinks like pomegranate juice. But here’s the catch… It’s 60 days before you ‘feel’ the benefits. In that time, as a customer, you’re paying for supplements and on the surface you can’t feel the impact. This is the supplement challenge - creating brand loyalty in the context of delayed gratification. Time Line have a solution to this. Firstly, messaging - ‘your cells feel the benefits before you do’. Beautiful. Next, an interactive timeline (see below). Customers can see the impact every step of the way, starting from 8 hours in. Plus, long-term presentation. Optimal cellular health isn’t achieved until 365 days in, giving customers a long-term end goal. It’s a well executed solution to the challenge and I’m sure it’s working well for them. What other brands out there are tackling the delayed gratification challenge well?

Product cards across your store should show as much information as possible, before the shopper has to click into a product page. Why? → Reduce unnecessary clicks in the shopping funnel. → Gives the shopper enough info to decide if they want more content. → Reduces the likelihood that the shopper bounces/opens a new tab to research your product elsewhere. A great example of this is a brand called We Heart Nutrition. When you hover over any product on their site, you’re able to see a slideshow of multiple images of the product – It’s super sleek to tell a story about a product without even having to go on the product page. Usually, brands do this by incorporating minimized text drop-downs on the product page that address any FAQs and explain how to use the product. That drop-down feature doesn’t force you to read how to use the product unless you want to but only after you click on the product page. We Heart Nutrition has done the same thing but in picture form on the collection page – this removes a step in the conversion funnel. Of course, there’s a strategic way of setting these things up but the goal is to provide as much information about a product as you can in a way that gives customers the flexibility to decide if they want to consume or not.

Grading celebrity-led brands. First up, TB12 Nutrition. ✅ Creator-product fit: A High-performance athletes need high-performing supplements and nutrition. ✅ Product quality: B+ Supplements are notoriously hard to measure the quality of. And there doesn't seem to be anything unique about these supplements. But, if Brady is taking them, we can trust that they are reasonably high quality. ❌ Brand strength without the celebrity: D The brand is literally built on Tom Brady's back. Without him, it's just another supplement company with no clear differentiator. Overall Score: C+ 🚨 HOWEVER. This rating doesn't take into account the recent merger with NOBULL . Although Tom Brady isn't a traditional "Creator", this move reminds me of the Marques Brownlee x Ridge partnership. NOBULL is an established athletic brand, and Tom Brady is one of the most iconic athletes of all time. It's still early, but I'm excited to see how this partnership elevates both brands. More and more surveys have been confirming that that consumers taking "sports nutrition" products more often use them to improve their general health compared to improve their performance. This decade-long categorical evolution to active nutrition (or active lifestyle) shouldn't be that surprising to anyone, but that doesn't mean the "gym is life" sports nutrition buyers are gone either...they're really now a segment within active nutrition.
