Herein lies a serious problem 🚨 The misconception that #affordablehousing is the same concept as #socialhousing is flatly wrong, and yet very few seem to realise that. The NSW Government is taking the floor at every opportunity to push for more affordable housing (which it should be), and yet there is no government supported marketing campaign to explain to those in the community the difference between affordable vs social housing, which leads to situations such as that described in this news article. 💡 Wouldn't this education create a significant difference for planning proposals to move through the system without additional delays due to misguided community opposition? For those that aren't clear, this definition is from the NSW Government Website: 1️⃣ Affordable Housing is housing that has been developed with some assistance from the NSW and/or Commonwealth Governments and that is appropriate for the needs of a range of very low to moderate income households and priced so that these households are also able to meet other basic living costs such as food, clothing, transport, medical care and education. As a rule of thumb, housing is usually considered affordable if it costs less than 30% of gross household income. 2️⃣ People described as being on a very low income are those earning less than 50% of the NSW or Sydney median income, depending on where they live. They include workers in a range of lower paid occupations, particularly in areas such as retail or manufacturing, as well as people earning the minimum wage or who are on an aged or disability pension or other government benefit. 3️⃣ The median Australian employee earned $65,000 in 2022, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. #educationiskey #nsw #development Alexandria affordable housing development devalues properties: neighbours (smh.com.au)

📢 Chelsea vs. Manchester United Fixture Postponed Due to Player Welfare Concerns 📢 The highly anticipated Chelsea Women's Super League clash against Manchester United, scheduled for October 6th, has been postponed due to concerns over player welfare. With Chelsea set to face Real Madrid in the Champions League group stage just two days later, the close proximity of the fixtures prompted the club to raise concerns about the well-being of their players. Despite efforts to find a solution, no viable alternative could be agreed upon. Chelsea expressed their "extreme disappointment" but reaffirmed that player welfare is their top priority. The Women's Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL) has apologised for the impact this decision has had on fans, with some experiencing financial losses from non-refundable travel and accommodation bookings. While protecting players is essential, this situation highlights the need for better planning and professionalism to avoid such issues in the future. What do you think could be done to avoid this in the future? #WSL #womenssuperleague #championsleague #womenschampionsleague #chelseawomen #manutdwomen #wpll

During the recently concluded AFCON, some argue that the Super Eagles' defeat in the final match could be attributed to the absence of their supporters in the stadium. This left the players feeling dejected, ultimately impacting their performance. Supporters play a crucial role in motivating football players. Similarly, employers should always strive to identify what motivates their employees and work to enhance it. The economic imbalance in Nigeria has an adverse effect on many and the ability to motivate employees will show how empathetic employers are. It's Friday, so consider organizing weekend getaways for your employees. Take the opportunity to listen to their challenges and pains, and find ways to support them. This not only boosts motivation but also fosters a closer bond between employers and employees.
