The battle against HIV/AIDS goes beyond medical interventions; it's about addressing systemic barriers that hinder progress. Discriminatory laws and unequal treatment of women in legal frameworks, coupled with sexual violence, not only perpetuate human rights violations but also impede effective HIV prevention, treatment, and care Women and girls disproportionately bear the burden of HIV/AIDS due to societal norms, lack of autonomy, and gender-based violence. Equalizing women in the eyes of the law, ensuring access to education, economic opportunities, and healthcare, empowers them to protect themselves from HIV and lead healthier lives.
