Today was a little different at Avantor Romania as we traded our usual work discussions for something a bit furrier and friendlier! 🐶🐱 In a unique virtual call, each team member had the chance to introduce their beloved pets to the rest of the team, creating a delightful atmosphere that brought smiles to everyone's faces. We believe that in the midst of our hectic work lives, having a furry (or scaly!) companion can make a world of difference. 🌎💕 Pets have an incredible ability to reduce stress and bring a sense of joy and calmness, making them the perfect antidote to a busy day. The team bonding experience today not only showcased our diverse and lovable pets but also emphasized the importance of creating a positive and supportive work environment. A 3-day seminar in VIAVINO to focus on #humanbeings 💞 rather than on "human doings" 👨💻 👩🚒 Through #workshops dedicated to the well being at work (and co-facilitated by Stéphanie Etienne) the participants could: 🌱 Discuss openly their life balance priorities, 🤾♀️ Identify areas of letting go to save mental load and target their impact actions #levers, 💌 Experience the key role of cross-team #communication in collective #wellness, 💥 #Debrief efficiently in 30 minutes flash, 💎 Nurture the teams’ #performance for upcoming projects, 💫 Reinforce self-esteem and strengthened human #bond, 🕊 Breath, stretch, warm-up, laugh… and sometimes get touched to (beautiful) tears... To make it short: Strong, sincere, powerful and useful moments. International Happiness at Work Week 😁 Being happy at work is equally as important as being happy outside of work, especially when we spend so much of our lives working! I wanted to share the top 10 reasons that bring me happiness in my workplace... 1) FEELING SUPPORTED - this doesn't just apply to my direct manager but stems across the company as a whole 🙌   2) OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP - this includes company paid training courses, exams and learning materials ✍   3) OFFICE CULTURE - working within a positive, people focused and open environment naturally results in happy employees 🤸♀️   4) FEELING VALUED - this stems down from the senior leadership team but applies to all of my colleagues 🏆   5) FLEXIBILITY - my employer understands that I have a life outside of work and I am able to work around other commitments 🕓   6) INCLUSIVE SOCIALISING - we work as one team and socialise as one team 🥂   7) CONSTANT CHANGE & GROWTH - no two days are the same for me, this fast-pace, consistently evolving way of working keeps my job exciting 😅   8) ENCOURAGEMENT - I'm encouraged to share ideas, take on new challenges and receive constant feedback on my work 💪   9) TRUST - I'm trusted to get on with my job, without micro-management and trusted to run with new ideas to benefit the company 🤝   10) CHRISTMAS PARTIES - (thought I'd end with a fun one) no one does Christmas parties quite like us!! 💃

Most know me via my day job as Director of BTR at the John Lewis Partnership - however, throughout January I have been moonlighting and indulging in my passion for health and wellbeing. Over the past three years, I’ve poured my heart into transforming a dark, cold and dreary January away from the dregs of the December’s festive hangover into a month of positivity and wellbeing. What began as a personal reboot has blossomed this year into a community of 85 incredible individuals (across the real estate industry and within John Lewis), joining me on this journey. I’m making it sound like a cult - don’t worry, it’s not. The feedback thus far  from the program has been heartwarming and insightful, pushing me to refine and expand the shared pursuit of wellness. During January’s long weeks we gave ourselves some targets ranging from step count, hydration, nutrition, exercise, meditation and celebrating wins (no matter how small). I’m the first to admit that I’m not a professional in this space, however armed with passion and content, I curated and facilitated daily motivation to help provide insight and encourage healthier choices and habits. But why share this on LinkedIn? Yes, there will be some people who sniff at this and dismiss it as “airy fairy fluff”. But I believe it’s the secret sauce for enhanced productivity; higher levels of focus; better results; and profound satisfaction – both in work and at home. I genuinely believe it’s important to shatter the stigma and truly understand the tangible benefits. Healthy employees aren’t just happier - they’re more productive, achieve better results, and experience genuine job satisfaction. Investing in wellbeing creates a positive work environment, reducing absenteeism and boosting engagement. The stats don’t lie! And there are loads out there…. To keep momentum going, I am looking to produce a series of events both virtually and in person throughout the year - if this takes your fancy or you are a professional in this space and want to offer some support- please reach out! 🗣️: Is it possible to manage work along with active participation in office fun activities during the working hours? Me: Yes it is! Its quite challenging, but not impossible. I've observed that many individuals express their desire to participate in fun events at work, but often find themselves fully occupied with deliverables and work responsibilities. As a result, they ignore their desire and prioritize work. Work is absolutely important, that's the reason we join workplace. However striking a balance between work commitments and leisure activities is mandatory. Otherwise you won't be able to enjoy your time. Recently I participated in the dance event organised by Macquarie in its Family Day Program and it was super fun. I managed my work and equally enjoyed my dance. Here are some points to help you enjoy fun events along with work: 🕡Time Management 💯 Active Participation 👬👫 Embrace Teamwork ☘️Maintain a Positive Attitude 📝 Note down the priorities and work in a planned manner 🎈Be Present where you are. 📆 Manage calendar and calls 🌟 Ask for team support if required ✅ Be confident and have a can do attitude By incorporating these points into your approach, you can enjoy the fun events while still staying on top of your work responsibilities.
