I wrote this short article for the Health Care Foundation explaining just how valuable strategic planned giving is, not only for the charity, but the donor as well. If you are thinking of donating to a charity, don't just write a cheque, plan it out. https://lnkd.in/e-GmmjJq Need help? Caritatis Wealth Management - Give. Smarter.

At FRRR, a big part of what we do is via our grant programs. But we also provide support to organisations in remote, rural and regional Australia in other ways too. One such mechanism is our Fundraising Accounts, which allow NFPs that have approved projects to utilise our DGR status. This essentially means that donors can make a tax deductible donation towards their organisation or project. This is done through two different FRRR accounts: 👉 Not-for-Profit Fundraising Accounts 👉 Community Foundation Accounts Find out more about whether your community group or project might be able to partner with us in this way. https://lnkd.in/ebKg3ncm #Community #Grants #Philanthropy #Fundraising #NFPfundraising #RuralAus

Time to make a difference! I have set a personal goal and will be doing my bit to support this. Why don't you take a look and join in? It will change someone's life. See www.invacaremoves.org #FreeWheelchairMission #Invacare #MoveForMobility #TeamInvacare #MobilityChallenge #Humanitarian #Fundraising
We are pleased to announce Move for Mobility, Invacare's first global fundraiser with our partner Free Wheelchair Mission , an international non-profit humanitarian organisation dedicated to providing wheelchairs to people in under-resourced countries. In May, hundreds of Invacare employees around the world are taking part by doing physical activities and challenges to help raise awareness and funds for this great cause. For every $96 raised, a wheelchair is gifted to communities with no access to mobility and very often healthcare. Watch the video of Geoffrey Purtill, Invacare CEO & President, and Nuka Solomon, Free Wheelchair Mission CEO, to find out more about our partnership and this incredible initiative. To support our teams this May, please simply visit our fundraising page: www.invacaremoves.org. Every donation helps. Thank you in advance. #FreeWheelchairMission #Invacare #MoveForMobility #TeamInvacare #MobilityChallenge #Humanitarian #Fundraising

As Chair of a decent-sized educational charity, I have observed this challenge for nearly 5 years. I also have a lot of experience working in the private/commercial sector, this is not a comment without extensive experience. It is not realistic to expect charities (which are operating businesses) to run day-to-day without any funding that goes towards their overheads. All too often donations are made that stipulate they are restricted funds for 'direct impact'. Without thinking, like any normal business, people, IT, office space etc., are needed to organise these amazing benefits that charities deliver to materialise in society. It feels to me that charities are not viewed as being normal businesses, that incur overheads. Look at any Income statement of any business and look for SG&A costs - this is the overhead, every business has them. Needless to say, this is a problem. Not least when you know, that the people who work in charities work far and beyond what they are asked to do, it's usually a people business with long and intensive hours. The 'bang for your buck' on overheads in the charities I have worked in, is enormous.
Nonprofits are rewarded for how little they spend. Not for what they get done. But frugality ≠ morality. Why shouldn’t charities: 👉 employ passionate, experienced staff? 👉 secure sustainability & support? Read more insights via our blog: https://lnkd.in/egBdz5Ys #CharitySupport #SmallCharities

I'm often asked how things are going in the charity sector and specifically what obstacles I'm facing in working in partnership with businesses. This research from CAF is really interesting, confirming what I was already noticing 'on the ground'. In 2024, I've seen renewed appetite from the partners we work with to get involved, volunteer, create fundraising challenges and attend events, but direct donations from businesses are still less common than people think. Just imagine what charities across the UK could do with £9.9bn if companies pledged 1% of their pre-tax profits? What problems could we solve? How many charities doing vital work could we save from closure? If you're involved in budget setting for 2025 over the next couple of months, perhaps consider what more your company might be able to do to support charities, or have conversations with those who can influence those decisions. https://lnkd.in/e-bTbAFd

🎯Charities can meet their fundraising goals even with fewer donors by targeting high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). To capture their attention and establish strong relationships🤝 with these donors, it's crucial for charities to deeply understand their charitable needs and behaviours. 🔍 Insights from the "Giving Experience Report" reveal the given 4 essential factors 📊 that significantly influence the commitment of affluent donors to your cause. An impressive 80% of wealthy donors 🌈 confirm these factors are likely or very likely to motivate them to financially support an organisation. To learn more about how to make your charity stand out to a wealthy donor, read our comprehensive guide here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dAe9WUcj #charity #donorrelations #fundraising #Highnetworthdonor #EngageCRM
