"We are not going to have an economy if we don't invest in the very people you're going to hear from today," said California Transportation Commissioner Hilary Norton, moderator of today's first panel at BizFed Institute's Transportation Forum. She led panelists Darren Kettle (Metrolink), Doran Barnes (Foothill Transit), Conan Cheung (Los Angeles Metro), and Dave Sikorski (International Union of Operating Engineers Local 12) on a wide-ranging discussion about multimodal strategies to build tomorrow's transportation system. What makes people use public transit more frequently? We're expecting 15 million visitors. The Olympic games alone will be like hosting 7 Super Bowls every day! (Brightline's station in Rancho Cucamonga will be next to an existing Metrolink station, allowing for seamless connections to Metrolink service.)

Did you know the past CTO of CATL is an American guy. The speed of change is now speeding up. How fast can things change? "wepenising energy storage" "Together we achieve more" and we badly need to do better than we are right now with our oceans or soil or rivers or air. I used to live in Beijing; the air was realy bad, but most of the cars were VW Jettas designed in Germany. Now the air is cleaner with EV's designed in China, but Paris it's worse. London? Dublin .. GW batteries? saving the planet? poisoning the planet? used for war? In a months time we get to see the Carbon emissions on the DEPARTEMENT DE LA SEINE-MARITIME subsidised ferries for 2023 running daily between Dieppe Région Normandie and Newhaven the South East Local Enterprise Partnership region. In 2022 the ferries emitted over 45,000 tonnes of C02 into the atmosphere paid for by ME (and you if you happen to pay tax in Normandie as an individual and your business). Collectively €26m in taxes get paid to DFDS to operate ferries they don't own each year. Right now its a lot of effort to get these numbers out of the "system" surely their is a more transparent way? What if public subsidies got used positively to change the engines / boats? What if customers were told at point of sale their C02 per journey? What if the excellent "on land" innovations here in Région Normandie of Hydrogen production got put to good use at sea? What if we doubled the number of daily services to the UK moving people and products between the UK and France but did it without C02. The C02 numbers are coming....let's see......
