Please do Gillian Keegan visit SEND and Autism Schools and also local Autism and SEND parent groups and forums. You will experience the real issues to why so many children and young people are being failed. Take responsibility and realise that many diagnosed and undiagnosed children with a hidden disability are being forced to go to school and when they don't go. The horrific and traumatic approach and behaviour from many untrained staff and TAs causing more damage to the mental wellbeing of our children and us parents... Never ends! Let's talk about years of LA panel refusing to understand one's child's diagnosis and comparing to other children. Yes I get it! but this one size fit all approach and no window to understand how autistic, ADHDers and PDAers children and young people and parents constantly penalised. You would think once they become young adults 16 plus things get better! Not at all as you see how they try and downsize your child's diagnosis to remove what's in their EHCP if they seem OK. My trio mask and how that has caused so much pressure on me. Hate the education system for the years of denial, lies and sabotage and parent blaming.. There are afew understanding teachers and TAs but not enough who still understand the dynamics of the impact of why so many children with a hidden disability miss school.
Going around the country nearly every week, I'm so lucky to meet incredibly talented children, inspirational teaching staff and hard-working parents all striving towards the same goal: to create a world-class education and improve life chances. That's why I'm in politics, and it's why I'm working to improve attendance in schools. Since the pandemic, countries around the whole world have faced the growing issue of rising absence in schools. We've been working on this for over two years, and I'm glad that there are 380,000 fewer children persistently absent or not attending school than last year. Through expanding attendance hubs and our attendance mentoring scheme, alongside the work by the Attendance Action Alliance, we're making progress, but we will go even further as we work together. Speaking with the children and teachers at St Christopher's Catholic Primary School in Liverpool this week, I know that if we follow our plan and work together, we can achieve this important ambition. #School #Teachers #Pupils #Children #Parents #Liverpool #Attendance #AttendanceHubs #AttendanceMentors #Education #Opportunity

When churches and schools share spaces, whether a shared building or shared campus, their missional differences can compromise the objectives of one or both ministry types. I want to appeal especially to pastors and elders to consider the value of Seventh-day Adventist education and acknowledge the responsibility you have as leaders to protect these valuable assets to ministry. #adventisteducation #riskmanagement https://lnkd.in/eHzyYg6w

Transforming War zones through Education-Congo |Education in Emergencies Specialist |Girls Education Champion in warzones -Congo,Refugees and informal settlement| UNESCO EiE Co-chair |Bosch Alumni |Teach For All Alumni
Did you know? In protracted conflicts, children learn six times slower than in other emergencies, significantly impacting their reading and writing abilities. Today marked a crucial step for us. We are currently training six teachers, introducing a new tool we've designed. This initiative is aimed at improving learning outcomes for children in schools affected by conflicts. Our school will serve as a pilot, allowing us to assess the effectiveness of this tool before scaling it to other schools. In the face of ongoing emergencies in #Congo, it's imperative to stay proactive in developing tools that can make a difference in the lives of these resilient children. #educationinemergencies #literacymatters #pedagogy Justice Rising International #teachingandlearning

Having an open tuition policy in schools helps parents feel more connected to the school and makes sure they are aware of what is expected of them academically. Furthermore, a well-communicated tuition policy fosters a favorable relationship between the school and the community, which supports a cooperative and supportive learning environment. 📚 #americaninternationalschool #TuitionTransparency #SchoolFinance #EducationBudget #PaymentClarity #ParentalTrust #FinancialStability #EducationalResources #SchoolCommunity #TuitionPolicy #TransparentEducation #relationships #cooperative #community #academic #policy

Places and spaces to thrive. Children ‘don’t’ need formal academic classrooms, environments that look and feel like a school. All children need spaces and places to thrive instead of just survive. ‘Extension of home instead of a watered down version of school.’ “If we thought more about childhoods and less about needs, some of our programs would look less like schools and more like homes and children’s museums, or like fields and parks. We might develop varied places with a genuine sense of beauty; places where adults and children delight at times in simply being together” - Jim Green-man #authenticresources #educators #ThirdTeacher #earlychildhoodeducator #enablingenvironment #Reggio #earlylearning #thirdteacher #reggioemilia #reggioinspired #aweandwonder #aesthetics #thrivenotjustsurvive #hygge #hyggeintheearlyyears #earlychildhoodeducator #earlyyears
