Men’s Health Month highlights some important statistics: heart disease is the leading cause of death among men, and men are three times more likely to commit suicide than women. Exercise can help to defend against both. At WES, we offer a company-wide fitness reimbursement plan to support our employees and their families. WES also offers sponsored medical plans and mental health support services. Your well-being matters—let’s prioritize our health together. #MensHealthMonth

Flourish in your caregiving role | Find strength, reclaim time, & create balance as a family caregiver | Align your mind, body, & spirit with PATH coaching | Recalibrate & recuperate with our family caregiver support
Supporting aging parents isn't just about reacting to crises; it's about proactive partnership. Start by sharing health information openly and regularly. This collaborative approach can prevent emergencies down the road. How you have this conversation is important. Remember when you were a child and your parents would "tell" you what to do? You didn't like it, right? Well, don't tell them what to do either. Avoid the "shoulds ", like "You should tell me what medications you are taking." Start by asking questions without prying. Examples would be: "I just had my annual physical and found out I have high cholesterol. I remember you telling me you had trouble with statins. What happened?" Then you can move into asking if they are still taking a medication and ask about other meds. Relate this to your own health because so many of the chronic conditions your parents have may also be yours. Learn more about the four key areas that will get you ready or if you are already caring then make sure these are covered. Here is a link to 4 four mini lessons from my membership. https://buff.ly/3Y2ktY1 #AgingParents #HealthPartner"

Our current model of "a pill for the ill" is simply not working. Our aging population is getting larger and becoming more vocal about the quality of life they wish to have. So gone are the days when we give patients prescriptions and expect them to 'take as prescribed'. Our patients are seeking a chance to be a part of the decision-making process surrounding their health. And we owe it to them to listen and provide all possible options for their care. This is where value-based care deprescribing comes in. Deprescribing clinicians can benefit from a fee-for-service model where they can cater to the persons seeking their expertise. If you are ready to be paid for the value you bring to your patients through deprescribing, sign up for my deprescribing accelerator HERE 👉🏾https://zurl.co/sR7x
