Child First is an amazing tool to support organisations to embedd a culture that understands, recognises and responds to trauma. We have to deliver this through the principles of being trauma informed and put on our rauma informed glasses.... #wytraumainformed2030

BARCO Statement on Recent Far Right Violence and Threats Dear BARCO Community, In light of the recent surge in far-right violence and threats targeting People of Colour and Muslims, and with intelligence indicating potential incidents in Brighton this week, we stand united in our commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive community for all. The continued use of terms like ‘protests’, ‘demonstrations’ and ‘anti-immigration groups’ to describe the situations is incorrect, offensive and insulting to all people of colour. What we are witnessing is white supremacy, terrorism, Islamophobia and racism - make no mistake about it. We understand that this news may instil fear and anxiety. It is natural to feel this way, but it is crucial to remember the strength and resilience that our community embodies. Throughout history, we have faced adversity with courage and unity, and we will continue to do so. A Message of Solidarity To our beloved community members, know that you are not alone. BARCO stands firmly by your side. We are here to support and uplift each other in these trying times. Let us channel our collective strength and continue to create safe environments where everyone feels valued and protected. Stay Safe and Vigilant We urge everyone to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety: Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with reliable news sources and community alerts. Report Incidents: If you witness or experience any threats or violence, report them immediately to local authorities and inform BARCO so we can warn others and support. Travel in Groups: Whenever possible, travel with trusted friends or family members. If that’s not possible, tell someone where you are going and where you will be. Avoid Risky Areas: Be mindful of your surroundings and avoid areas where tensions may be heightened. Our Commitment BARCO is monitoring the situation, in dialogue with Sussex Police as well as other community organisations to provide factual necessary information and support where needed. We are dedicated to ensuring that your voices are heard and our rights are protected. Together, We Rise In times of darkness, it is our unity and solidarity that light the way. Let us continue to support one another, celebrate our diverse cultures and stand against hate with unwavering resolve. By coming together, we can overcome any challenge and build a brighter, more inclusive future for all. Stay safe, stay strong, and stay united. With love, solidarity and hope, The BARCO Team info@brighton-barco.org www.brighton-barco.org

Two of the most critical things in policing are communication & information. Information drives our tactics and decision-making. Do I need to drive fast or slow? Should I send extra units, or is one ok? Is this the whole story or only part of it? That information is useless if it’s not communicated promptly and accurately. Good information one second late is pointless to me & my teammates. How do we gather information in real-time? How do we communicate it? How do we coordinate our resources? Enter our Emergency Telecommunicators. More commonly known as dispatchers & call-takers. Their job is to quickly & accurately collect as much information as possible, sort it out, & and then relay the most important parts of it, all in real-time. This Wednesday, I’ll spend the day with the team at Calgary 911 to see just what it takes to carry out this vital job.
Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week! Thank you to those who’s hard work and sacrifices contribute to a safer and better community for all. This was a great photo of me dispatching Calgary Police Service busy District 1 a few years ago! Can’t wait to enjoy this week and celebrate our amazing staff! 📸 : Chris Martin

"Live or Die." There is no inbetween with me. Every day I am above ground, I promise to live life to the fullest. When I die, it will be without regret and my tank will be empty. Semper Fidelis
I am now a candidate for the Pasco County Mosquito Control District Seat 1 which will be decided November 5th. https://lnkd.in/gR-6RX5c We need another Pasco County Mosquito Control District debate between the candidates. One where ALL THE CANDIDATES participate. This video is telling but it does not tell the whole story. The Two Incumbent Commissioners should have been there to have their side of the story told. Right or Wrong, they are currently your elected representatives for this "special" taxing district. We have a great County asset that just needs fiscal leaders to guide them into a strategic position to provide the services they are legislatively required to give. If we can adjust their spending habits and create an environment of innovation and collaboration then PCMCD may still be in existence next election cycle. Failure to get their spending habits in check and there will no longer be a special taxing district and this service will be dumped on an already bloated County government. It's not a hard task if we elect America First, TEA party candidates come November 5th. Vote for David Wallis PCMCD Seat 1 and Gary Joiner for Seat 3. Together we can get this fixed lickity split.
