◾ How did the idea come about?
◽ Emma: After working in the hotel industry abroad and in Greece, I noticed the waste generated from linens, especially towels and sheets. This inspired me to come up with the idea to repurpose them rather than throwing them away, by transforming them into uniforms for staff and slippers for guests, giving them a second life within the hotel.
◾ What’s your favorite moment of the day in the atelier?
◽ Emma: My favorite time is between 7:00 - 9:00 am, when everything is still quiet. Most people haven’t started their workday yet, and I have time to organize my day. By the time we all start at 9:00, I feel more prepared and energized to tackle the day ahead.
◾What’s your favorite This Was A Sheet uniform set?
◽ Emma: I love all the sets and often wear them as everyday clothes. If I had to choose, I’d say the Trousers with Gap paired with the Kimono. But honestly, I love it in every color!
◾What helps you stay focused at work?
◽ Emma: A well-organized morning routine, staying hydrated, and plenty of coffee! And for those times when I need to be 100% focused, I definitely put on my headphones. Our space is open and busy with machines, so headphones are essential!
◾ What’s the most important value you want to pass on to your team?
◽ Emma: That we’re all interconnected more than what we think. We need to feel good about our work, learn from our mistakes, and keep each other informed. From production to creative, to accounting and sales, we’re all interconnected and must respect one another.
