As a volunteer in Job fair conduct in the college I found a person had come to attend the Interview along with his mother. As he was new to the place he did not know where a printer shop was. He was stumbling here and there but never approached us. But for a change his mother approached and learnt about the place and passed on to him. That's not the only case and it's same with many others. I accompanied my son on a tour of a job fair yesterday. He's on a break in his studies and is looking for any kind of job opportunity to gain life experience. The fair was a chance for him to practice introducing himself, asking questions, and adapting to the answers. Networking and job hunting takes practice. He did great for a first time, and had some good conversations, but I have to say that I was surprised how ill-prepared the recruiters were to answer the question: "What kind of entry-level positions do you have?" No matter the industry, nobody really had a firm answer. Every company only expected applicants with experience. I don't have a solution to the age-old problem of new people breaking into the job market, but it was interesting to see it first-hand.

Recently I attended a local job fair. Individually all of the participants, job seekers/employers/and organizers, did a good job ... but some things were missing. I came away from the job fair the same way I always do, frustrated and disappointed, as I suspect did many other people.
