Every day, I’m reminded that Understory is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It’s all or nothing—a chance to aim for true, global impact with a team of talented, hard-working, passionate people. There has never been a generation with as many tools and advantages to become successful as Gen Z. Likewise, there has never been a generation with as many distractions and pressure as Gen Z. Social media, movies, video games, celebrity gist… The distractions are endless. My advice to you is this 👇🏾 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲. 👉🏾 Use the tools we have wisely 👉🏾 Take control of your time 👉🏾 Set clear goals and stay focused While previous generations had distractions too, none of them were as tied to them as we are. And for years I loved what I was doing, until one day my husband and I and our 3 kids were on the beach and Walmart called with a problem. When they call, you have to jump. They can lose millions in minutes when their systems are down. It's the day I really planned out what I wanted my life to look like. I wanted me and my husband working from home (started to do that in 1994), our 3 kids to be with us (they started internet school in grade 5 in 2006), so we could work and travel anywhere in the world (I've spoken in 39 countries), and live a freedom lifestyle. It was dreamed of first, and then planned. If you can imagine it, you can have it - you just need to take the steps that help you get it.
