As a member of the ATLG - Architectural Technical Leads Group, Supervene Architects is a signatory to the open letter published by ATLG in response to the release of Phase 2 of the Grenfell Report.   The ATLG welcomes the release of Phase 2 of the Grenfell Report and its recommendations for the design and construction industry. The ATLG have been discussing its contents and have now released an open letter in support of the recommendations of the Report.   The open letter is endorsed by 62 UK practices, they constitute over 20% of the AJ100 list - 22 practices, with over 2500 qualified architects   We urge our industry and government to support the recommendations in the report by taking the actions in the open letter. After reviewing its contents, ATLG have released an open letter in support of the recommendations of the Report. Grenfell report: RIBA calls for principal contractors licencing scheme. The Royal Institute of British Architects is recommending the creation of a licencing scheme for principal contractors https://bit.ly/3Ci7yKE

The 2024 amendments to the RIBA Standard, Domestic, and CDM Regulations Principal Designer Professional Services Contracts (PSCs) are now available. The Domestic PSC allows architects to act as Building Regulations Principal Designer and/or CDM Regulations Principal Designer. The Standard includes architects’ duties under Part 2A of the Building Regulations. Services related to higher-risk buildings are shaded for easy identification. Those completing the PSC, please read the Guidance Notes. Architects, tick the applicable services. Do not simply state in your client care/interim appointment letters that you are providing the services in the Standard or Domestic PSC. Remember, you need to be competent to act and ensure the terms of your appointment are clear before you start.
