### Trade Shows: The Unexpected “sell me if you can” LOL! It's surprising how, when you build a booth at a trade show, most visitors are actually trying to sell you something. The number of targeted visitors interested in buying your products or services is significantly smaller. Exhibition organizers have no solutions for this problem—no targeted matchmaking of buyer visitors for exhibitors, which is the very reason companies invest in such expensive participation and booth construction.

Freeman released their Q2 Trends Report, which focuses on exhibitors this time. There were a couple of things that stood out to me. Here's 1: "Offer predictable exhibitor packages: Help exhibitors feel confident about their event spend and their return by offering tiered, all-inclusive pricing. … Consider offering packages that include more than just exhibit space and align with other event goals, like networking and sharing thought leadership." This one surprised me, and I'd love to dig more into this in the future. I understand that exhibitors want to know what they're paying up front. This goes especially for smaller exhibitors who have less budget and may be less experienced at exhibiting (and the Freeman report shows that). However, I'd like to understand a bit more about how this translates to larger packages such as exhibit space AND sponsorships and what that could look like. I'm all for aligning with those other goals. This is something that I feel like I'd like to research, for sure. Anyone have thoughts about this? Let's discuss! #expohall #eventprofs

According to the Explori Exhibitor Insights Report, 2023, “61% of exhibitors say that previous experience at a show is a key factor in their decision to exhibit.” That is why, whether we work directly with the exhibitor or indirectly as full-service suppliers to shows, we do everything we can to simplify the exhibitor experience, helping organisers secure rebookings for future events! We achieve this using: - A knowledgeable team for our onsite help desks - Customisable order portals for each show, simplifying the stand design and ordering process - Shell scheme alternatives - Storage options - Values of honesty, transparency and trust! If you want your exhibitors to return to your event, make their experience as smooth as possible with Exhibit 3Sixty - https://ow.ly/NcC550Qj3sf #exhibitionstand #exhibitiondesign #exhibitionstanddesign #eventprofs #eventprofsuk #exhibition #expo #events #exhibit #exhibitioncontractor #eventsindustry #fullservice #exhibitors #exhibitorexperience

That's a wrap for this year's Expo West! Some may question the value of traveling over 4000 miles from Iceland to Anaheim, California, to attend a trade show among roughly 3000 other exhibitors. However, the answer is clear and based on iterations of almost 20 participations in tradeshows with Saltverk: Yes, it's worth it and here's why: Despite the immense growth facilitated by the internet for Saltverk, there's nothing quite like face-to-face interactions. In my experience, business-to-business is truly human-to-human. Trust isn't built in business; it's built in the people within the business. In the US, we collaborate with strong brokers like Yin Yang Naturals, who also attend the show in person and connect us with potential retailers. This allows us the opportunity to make personal connections and, hopefully, leave a lasting impression with our handcrafted sea salt. Having attended these trade shows for almost a decade now, we've found that, more often than not, retailers need multiple interactions at expos like Expo West before they're ready to engage in a dialogue about our products. So, for any aspiring producer of consumer goods, my advice is this: while the internet serves its purpose, there's still nothing as impactful as shaking hands and saying hello.

I just want to say "THANK YOU!" to GAMA for making all of our lives a little easier in 2025...at least for those who attend both Toy Fair NY and the GAMA Show in Louisville. What a novel idea - staggering our industry trade shows so that we can attend all of them and meet with our buyers/retailers...WOOO! Kudos to Eric Price and the team at GAMA! #gama #commonsense #ToyIndustry GAMA EXPO 2025 DATE CHANGE Yesterday GAMA announced that we are moving the dates of the 2025 GAMA EXPO one week earlier to February 23-27, 2025, to address space issues with our original dates. This decision was made primarily due to the growth we had this year over the previous show in Reno. 2024 was our largest show to date with 2,736 people in attendance and 300 exhibitors representing an overall growth of 34% from last year in attendees and nearly a 50% growth in the number of exhibitors. This growth made us reevaluate the space we had under contract at both the hotel and convention center for both 2025 and 2026. When the last Site Selection Committee, comprised of members for all divisions, selected the new home for GAMA EXPO in 2019, we looked at historical growth in Reno and used that projection to secure space for 2024-2026 in Louisville. We blew past that projection with this year’s show. If we stayed with the original March 3-7 dates, we would have had a much smaller footprint than we had this year when we were able to add last minute space to accommodate the growth we were seeing via registrations. As such, we worked with the venues to find dates and rooms that match what we had this year. This is not an effort to add additional space, but to maintain what we offered for 2024. Considering the serious effort it took for the KICC and GALT House to move the groups they already contracted, they asked that we extend our contract by an additional year. As partnerships go both ways, we agreed to the one-year extension. With this change in dates, the three main US industry trade shows will now be held in consecutive weeks. Toy Fest - February 19-21, 2025 GAMA EXPO – February 23-27, 2025 New York Toy Fair – March 1-4, 2025 We understand this change affects everyone’s schedule, but please know, this decision was not made lightly. It was made with the best interest of our members and the overall success of the show in mind. Also, while we agreed to the one year extension, we are committed to supporting the efforts of the member-led Site Selection Committee process which is already looking for our next location once the current contract expires in 2027.

Are you planning to exhibit in the near future? Yesterday I attended three exhibitions, all linked at the ExCeL London. Whilst wandering around some incredibly impressive stands, which have no doubt cost a great deal to design and build, never mind the cost of the plot on which they stood, I observed a hugely varying degree of interaction. Here are my top 5 Do's and Don'ts of exhibiting: Don't - Absorb yourself in your mobile phone to avoid conversation - Hide behind leaflets, brochures and business cards - Tell, Tell, Tell - Pretend to be too busy to engage - Slump over your expo stand Do - Try to open conversation with as many people as possible, ask questions and show interest - Listen to your potential client, this is where you will learn about the problem you could solve - If foot flow is slow, then engage with other exhibitors, then may be your customers too or at least there may be a way to help each other. - Have fun, enjoy yourself and with that attracts clients. - Reduce the amount of paper you give away - always give something that allows you to follow up afterwards - fortune is in the follow up. One Card will significantly help you at exhibitions, saving you time and money, increase your sales through our various products, One Card Core, One Card Nexus or One Card digital merchandise. The duration of EMO Hannover 2025 will be shortened from six to five days in the future. “#Shortening the event by one day is a #strategicdecision aimed at making EMO Hannover even more efficient and more purposeful,” said Dr Markus Heering, Managing Director, VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association) —the organizer of EMO Hannover —in describing the change. The decision is based on the #exhibitors’ clear desire to #focus and #condense the #tradefair even more. In 2023, they were asked about this in detail during the event. The result was clear: the majority of exhibitors would like to cancel Saturday. #Visitinghabits have changed significantly in recent years. Visitors can obtain detailed information in advance, prepare their visit to the #tradefair better and more stringently, and also decide more quickly if necessary. According to the visitor survey, the average duration of a visit is just over a day. #Internationalvisitors stay slightly longer. “As a result, Saturday is no longer an attractive day to visit,” said Heering. “We are therefore complying with the exhibitors’ request and canceling Saturday.” EMO Hannover VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association) Sylke Becker Tanja L.
