"Towards a Christian Voting Ethic" a Substack article by me: https://lnkd.in/eS5QBU8X Presidential Election Drama is heating up. In fact, over the past 6-ish years, there have been mass political upheavals on multiple fronts! Though I often tend towards anticipating worst case scenarios, I confess I had no idea how much damage and division would come to characterize American politics in recent years. But what about Christians? They also seem more politically divided, more partisan, more lacking in political integrity than ever—so often willing to excuse grave evils on “their side” in order to attain or maintain political power (even if it is supposedly for good ends). I have watched all this unfold with interest, discouragement, and—at times—shock and horror. This has given me an opportunity to do some intense self-reflection, research, and observing as I try to make sense of the American political and cultural landscape while seeking to distill some core, basic principles for wise and good political engagement. This article is a summary of some of my key insights, ponderings, and admonitions. Spoiler alert: I’m NOT going to tell you who to vote for. "The Broken Two-Party Debate" If you were hoping that a debate between two 80 year old presidential candidates would clarify some questions you might harbor on who to vote for. You, like many Americans, were severely disappointed. What the broken two party system has given us is a clear choice: the need for something different. Republicans are running a fascist, would-be dictator cult leader who embodies everything the Anti-Christ from the New Testament is meant to resemble. And his Supporters still support him. Democrats are running a walking corpse, who has a negative approval rating, and is TIED in polling with the biggest threat to democracy America has faced. If symbolism means anything then Biden might be the "Death to Democracy". For Independents, the only thing we understood from this debate is that democracy under a two party system will crumble and fail - And Independents are not leaning Biden.

You have an active convicted felon with an active criminal enterprise running for president, which includes the American Supreme Court, Federal and State judiciary bent on destroying the freedoms of a democracy and on the other side a current President whose elderly age is showing more than the active criminal felon, who is 3 years younger, but has an accomplished track record in the last 4 years of really building back America to a World power that no other President in the history of America has done with his team of professional managers who are much younger. The contrast is clear. What do you really want America; a dictatorial government and judiciary or a stable, honest democracy and government? We know how the world turned out when the people chose Barabbas over Jesus. Our world’s years are governed by before and after Jesus Christ. The same will happen in this 2024 election. America will make a choice in this 2024 election that will govern and stand for how our children and their children’s children will live for ions.

" Trump's assassination attempt: A Culture of disguised self-hatred " - by Max L'Entrepreneur The debate surrounding the 5 million votes from the last election cycle, a topic that many, myself included, still find questionable, continues to be a point of contention in the ongoing political discourse. As it stands, it would seemingly require 50 million votes to rescue Biden from what could be the most disastrous campaign in US history. We also know, coming from countries like Cuba and Venezuela, that communists, socialists, and every other sociopath out there would do anything not to have normalcy, conservative values, family respect, economic prosperity, and American faith in our Lord and his blessings in our lives. For years now, we have been worried that any leader who is willing to do what it takes to lift America from the bottom of this chaos would have to face even an assassination attempt. Why? Just turn on to every liberal channel, every type of media, and see the language of hatred, the comments from liberal comedians where they allude to the bravery of someone willing to "get rid" of Trump or any conservative leader. We cannot defend the values of civilization because then we would subject ourselves to abuse, and even a crazy, paid or unpaid shooter might take a shot at us. I don't care anymore whether liberals like it or not; this time, unless something strange happens, you are not taking this election by force, and if they attempt, God will raise another one of us to save our motherland. Please don't waste your time; we are a majority that doesn't want to see your crazy agenda and your mad values reflected in our children and grandchildren. From my perch as a non-partisan desperate to see our system generate something better than a Trump-Biden rematch, hoping Peggy Noonan is prescient here. Behind the scenes, exciting proposals are circulating to run a robust, transparent and highly democratic process to find a replacement candidate for Joe Biden. Success in doing so would improve governance for the next four years (assuming polling about dissatisfaction with both candidates tells us something). More importantly, it could demonstrate how entirely different processes for nominating and voting can fix our broken, partisan system. Now is the time to add your voice to the call for this kind of action (for example, by contacting your Democratic Representative or Senator to request they also apply their influence to create the conditions for a different convention). Election reform is gaining momentum, but this opportunity could advance it by several cycles!

People who think the threat of fascism is going to disappear when democrats win elections are deeply unserious. The democrats couldn’t stop a parked car. Democrats could take control of both the House and the Senate, and win the presidency. They still ain’t stopping fascism. Too many of them benefit. They’re in on the take together. And they don’t listen to what we think unless we are rich. Straight up. They make their money from warmongering, legalized bribery, and insider trading, same as everyone else in Washington DC does. Two words to remember: Civil resistance. That’s how you’re going to stop fascism. And for this deaf man, democracy doesn’t need to be saved. It’s always been dead. We have always been excluded from every layer of participation within society. So miss me with the bullshit. Maybe start listening to us about how you’re going to save our democracy for a change? Maybe democracy doesn’t only belong to billionaires and their pet politicians? Just an idea. 💡

The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) strongly condemns the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Political violence has no place in our society and undermines the democratic values we hold dear. We echo President Biden's words: “I want to speak to you tonight about the need for us to lower the temperature in our politics. We're neighbors or friends, coworkers, citizens. Most importantly, we are fellow Americans, we must stand together. We can’t allow this violence to be normalized. I believe politics ought to be an arena for peaceful debate. Our politics must never be a literal battlefield. We resolve our differences at the ballot box -- not with bullets.” We urge all citizens to engage in our political process through peaceful and constructive means. Voting is a powerful tool for change and a cornerstone of our democracy. Let's ensure our voices are heard by participating in local, state, and national elections. Together, we can foster a society built on respect, justice, and unity. #ELCVotes

POLITICAL POLITICS - Obfuscation rules. Like it or not, politics is a zero sum game. You either win or you lose. Winning is everything. There is nothing else. How you win does not matter. Those who do not understand the terms of engagement lose. Put another way, the means justifies the end. It's the simple reality of politics. If you need any more evidence think: Donald Trump, Boris Johnson or if you want close to home - Winston Peters. That's politics. As a voter/spectator you need to be able to discern. The best you can do is vote. Then get on with loving your family, contributing to your community and helping as many people as you can. Along the way, soak up the good memories and let go the not so good. For we are all destined to be dust. Life is like that.

You should all share this article with everyone you know. Indeed, everyone--liberals and conservatives alike--needs to focus on this unique threat to the future viability of America. And Democrats need to stop all in-fighting and join with sensible Republicans to halt the very real possibility of this country becoming a dictatorship. https://wapo.st/47QyFY1
