I recently came across a powerful story on BBC News about a new diagnostic test that’s helping patients like Phillip Marks, who was able to receive quicker and more precise treatment for lung cancer. The new test detects circulating tumour DNA from a simple blood sample, offering hope to thousands by allowing for faster diagnoses and more targeted therapies. At Amoy Diagnostics, we share in this vision of leveraging advanced diagnostics to improve patient outcomes. Our Pan lung Cancer kit is designed with similar goals in mind—detecting multiple cancer biomarkers to guide personalized treatment decisions. It’s inspiring to see how innovation in cancer testing can transform lives, and we're proud to be contributing to this critical field. Let’s continue to push for faster, more accurate cancer diagnostics worldwide. #CancerDiagnostics #Innovation #Healthcare #PersonalizedMedicine
Thanks to BBC Wales for covering a story on the impact the QuicDNA tests have had in Wales over the last year. Thank you everyone for all the fundraising support to make this happen and please be very proud of what you have achieved in helping to roll this out. https://lnkd.in/eW_SNuNd

In 2017, after a long battle, my father passed away from Lung cancer. My story isn’t even close to being unique and every person I know has a loved one or dear friend who has passed away or gone through the fight of their life trying to overcome a cancer diagnosis. I have been inspired by those working tirelessly to change this narrative. That’s why I am running the Philadelphia Marathon to raise funds for cancer research. Your support can make a difference. #forthefight #AACR #americanassociatioforfcancerresearch #oncologyresearch #cancerresearch #clinicaltrials #research #clinicalresearch https://lnkd.in/erRwjTyB

The Committee Members of the Cancer Patient Assistance Program are excited to announce the 2024 All Cancers Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser! Saturday, October 12, 2024 @ Campbell Park Courts: 520 W 6th St, Imperial. Registration at 8:00 am, Honorary Walk at 8:30 am and Tournament begins at 9:00 am. The purpose of this event is to raise funds that are used to provide support for individuals from Chase County as well as patients who are treated here at the Chase County Community Hospital & Clinics. This financial support helps offset costs for patients who are receiving cancer treatments along with those who obtain prevention & detection services. It is also an opportunity to recognize local cancer survivors and to honor our loved ones who have lost their battles to cancer. This year’s event is “Pickleball” which is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It's played with a perforated plastic ball and paddles on a court that's about a quarter of the size of a tennis court. Pickleball’s popularity has been growing in recent years for several reasons, including: 1. It is easy for practically anyone to learn how to play. 2. It is a Social Activity: because a pickleball court is smaller than a tennis court, gameplay allows players to be close enough to one another that they can hold conversations. 3. It provides great exercise for your mind and body. There will be a Novice/Beginner Division and an Advanced Division for those who have played before so regardless of your experience, this will be a great event in which to participate. When I accepted my job at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, I had no connections to blood cancer. I knew my empathy and admiration for the mission of the company would help me be successful in the position. 48 hours after saying yes, I received the news that a family friend's (one that has been around since before I was born) son was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at only three years old. Suddenly the mission of my company became my personal mission. Cleveland Light the Night is happening on October 6th and I am personally fundraising for it. Any donations to the cause can make a lifetime impact on individuals like Louie (who after a month of chemo is doing great). Here are a few AMAZING things that LLS can do with funds raised: -$300 could help fund one week of LLS-sponsored group support for families dealing with blood cancer treatment. -$500 could help defray the costs of treatment-related travel for a patient. -$1,000 could help fund general lab supplies for five weeks to help LLS-funded researchers conduct laboratory work needed to develop blood cancer treatments. -$7,500 could help fund the work of an LLS-funded research fellow for six weeks. -$10,000 can allow donor direct funding of one of nine disease-specific research portfolios. If you would like to donate or attend the event please visit my fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/eCDDATw7 For those equally passionate about bringing light to the darkness of cancer, I would love to discuss how you can be a part of next year's Light the Night!

The Mats Paulsson Foundations is the collective name for three different foundations; "Mats Paulsson Foundation" (instituted 2003), "The Stefan Paulsson Cancer Fund Foundation" (2008), and "Mats Paulsson Foundation for Research, Innovation, and Societal Development" (2011), where the latter owns Medicon Village. Since their inception, these foundations have distributed a total of 219,086,000 SEK for charitable purposes to promote human health and better lives, with 27,715,000 SEK being distributed in 2023. Sustainability is important and increasingly vital for all operations. Medicon Village not only has a sustainable ownership model, where surplus funds are reinvested into academic research in the form of donations, but also operates sustainably verified since 2023. Both these facts are beneficial to our members, since they can claim to be located in a sustainable environment.
