Wight is proud to be announced as a FINALIST in AIA Chicago’s Design Excellence Award. Chicago Botanic Garden, The Glade Modeled after a glade in the adjacent forest preserve, this new gathering area at the Chicago Botanic Garden offers a free, family-friendly space with magnificent views of a world-class Japanese garden. The pavilions were thoughtfully positioned and designed to be minimally invasive, enhancing, rather than detracting, from the carefully curated, postcard-like views integral to Japanese garden design. The Glade provides bicycle parking, restroom facilities, and shaded areas, serving as a welcoming entry point for those arriving by bike or foot from the neighboring forest preserve and trails. Join us at Designight 2024 on Thursday, September 5, 2024 as we celebrate this award and find out if we have won the Citation of Merit or the top Honor Award! All are welcome to attend this two-part event, held at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance and the Harris Theater Rooftop Terrace in Millennium Park.
