I think all new schools should be set up with all electrical and plumbing accessible to be repaired or updated in the future. The rooms should be setup so that in the future apartments or businesses could occupy the school without major changes. Even though there would be some added expenses in the building of the school, in the future the school could be leased or sold at maybe a profit to the school district.

Q: Why aren’t there any projects for the Elementary buildings in this bond proposal? A: All of our elementary buildings have either been built or significantly renovated between 2017 - 2021 as part of the voter-approved 2017 Bond Projects and include layers of safety and security features. All elementary buildings, as well as MacDonald Middle School, have secure entrances. Only the high school is lacking a secure entrance and front-facing administration office area. As students return to school, #Jefferson Elementary in Jefferson City exemplifies the struggles of rural districts with aging infrastructure. Built in 1958, the school faces severe issues like #mold, #asbestos, and unreliable heating. Despite the clear need for significant repairs or a new building, funding remains a major hurdle. Renovation costs exceed $20 million, nearly as much as building a new school, but the county commission has repeatedly stalled on approving funds. This leaves 500 students and dedicated staff in a deteriorating environment, grappling with daily challenges and #safety risks. #EducationChallenges #InfrastructureCrisis #JeffersonCity https://lnkd.in/eV_H2bPy

More than 100 school buildings containing a dangerous concrete will be rebuilt or refurbished, the government has confirmed. It says all affected schools will receive funding to permanently remove it - although, unions say the announcement includes no new money. In England, 234 schools contain reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac). The material was used as a cheaper alternative to standard concrete. It has been revealed that, with an increasing number of schools in urgent and desperate need of major repair and refurbishment, the number of building repair projects approved by the government has reduced by nearly 60% – from 2,104 repair projects in 2020-21 to 826. Experts warn that buckets on desks, freezing classrooms and power cuts have become commonplace.

FACILITIES MANAGEMT EMPHASIS INDOOR AIR QUALITY, ENERGY REDUCTION SERVICES. SPECIALIZED AIR-CONDITIONING, ELECTROMECHANICAL AND SOLAR SYSTEMS.
https://lnkd.in/giEg3D9Q No suprise here. Many school districts in the State are managed by personnel with little or no knowledge of basic facility management it is surprising that this sad situation is not chronic with many other school districts in Texas. School districts in Texas operate with some of the most dilapidated structures, poor or non existent equipment maintenance, insignificant energy reduction programs, trevial safety and security measures.
