California Grape Crush 2023 - 3.67 Million Tons crushed: Up 8% compared to last year, but still lower than historical average (5th consecutive year under 4M ton mark) - Leaders in volume are: Chardonnay (17.5%) and Cab Sauvignon (17.3%). Both were up 24% and 14% respectively VS last year - A large amount of grapes were left unpicked due to low demand from wineries and the industry in general. - Wineries were only willing to receive contracted volumes and did not speculate on more, in line with current industry trend. #winemaking #wine #wineindustry Table below includes both wine grapes and table grapes
