Doing some legislative session math: The Wisconsin State Legislature has a monthly floor periods leading to closure of its 2024 session March 14. Today (Feb. 21) and tomorrow (Feb. 22) are the last floor days of the month. March's floor days are March 12-14. Also an odd "last general business floor period" April 11. Senate Bill 642, Wisconsin's comprehensive privacy bill, is available for Senate scheduling following committee approval and passage of its House companion. The Virginia-style bill (VA coverage thresholds, controller-processor agreements, 30-day cure, AG enforcement, effective Jan. 1, 2025) has been awaiting its final vote since Feb. 15. Could be a scenario where the Senate will include it in a mass approval of bills during the March floor period (or the last-ditch April session).
