Climate scientists can measure the temperature of a warming world, but how do they know what global warming will actually do? Meet Feng He MS’08, PhD’11, whose job in the UW’s climate simulation lab requires him to predict the future. https://lnkd.in/gPkKmc5n

80%! How can we strive for more accuracy when it comes to climate reporting? Global warming coverage in prestigious US newspapers tends to be biased towards political balance rather than scientific consensus. I expand on balance as bias in my latest video essay about climate fallacies and the media. ⏯️ Watch it now: https://lnkd.in/eiNyvkxt 💡 For my weekly media bulletin with stats, insights, & video essays > https://lnkd.in/gfH6BEm5

Climate Engagement Manager 🌎 Greenly | Supporting businesses in getting to Net Zero | MA International Business, SaaS girl, ex-dancer, coral reefs lover
💡💚 For a good start to the week: This game takes around 8 minutes. Imagine you are a global minister for future generations. How will your decisions (across industry, transportation, electricity production and building management) influence the trajectory of climate change? I ended up with 1.59C of warming by 2100. Realistically, we are NOT on the same track 🥲 "This game is based on published scientific research and bespoke modelling by the International Energy Agency for the FT." Super insightful and science-based, 10/10 recommend giving it a go!

Another classic from Martin Durkin the writer and director of "The Great Global Warming Swindel" from 2007. Producer is Tom Nelson, an exceptional podcaster with a lot of very inter interviews, Tom Nelson Podcast on Youtube. A must Watch for all you people that are sick of all the lies. "CLIMATE THE MOVIE (THE COLD TRUTH) DIRECTOR MARTIN DURKIN PRODUCER TOM NELSON This film exposes the climate alarm as an invented scare without any basis in science. It shows that mainstream studies and official data do not support the claim that we are witnessing an increase in extreme weather events – hurricanes, droughts, heatwaves, wildfires and all the rest. It emphatically counters the claim that current temperatures and levels of atmospheric CO2 are unusually and worryingly high. On the contrary, it is very clearly the case, as can be seen in all mainstream studies, that, compared to the last half billion years of earth’s history, both current temperatures and CO2 levels are extremely and unusually low. We are currently in an ice age. It also shows that there is no evidence that changing levels of CO2 (it has changed many times) has ever ‘driven’ climate change in the past... ...The film explores the nature of the consensus behind climate change. It describes the origins of the climate funding bandwagon, and the rise of the trillion-dollar climate industry. It describes the hundreds of thousands of jobs that depend on the climate crisis. It explains the enormous pressure on scientists and others not to question the climate alarm: the withdrawal of funds, rejection by science journals, social ostracism" "The film was written and directed by the British filmmaker Martin Durkin and is the sequel of his excellent 2007 documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle. Tom Nelson, a podcaster who has been deeply examining climate debate issues for the better part of two decades, was the producer of the film." https://lnkd.in/epWsDiSw

We need to prepare our clients and communities for a changing climate - while also decarbonizing and building sustainable, healthy spaces for all. Resilience + Sustainability. #sustainabledesign #sustainability #resilience #climatechange #resilientdesign
Architects and engineers must consider future climate change in their designs. Relying solely on historical weather data is no longer sufficient in the era of global warming. Listen to this episode of Yale Climate Connections podcast to hear Ariane Laxo of HGA underscores the need to leverage climate data to create resilient structures.

On page 771, point #6 of chapter 14 Executive summary of the IPCC technical report TAR3 it says: "The climate system is a coupled non-linear chaotic system, and therefore the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible." Simple logic dictates that if this is true and I believe that it is, it is also impossible to determine how much of the beneficial warming since the end of the LIA is natural and how much, if any, is anthropogenic.

Summarizing our work that discusses recent advances in evaluating the spatially heterogeneous economic impact of climate change.
🌦️#Climatechange is a spatial phenomenon. 🌐While it will be very costly at equatorial latitudes, where it is already very hot, it will have more benign effects at northern latitudes, where temperatures today are too cold to foster large concentrations of people and #economic activity. ⭐This column discusses recent advances in the development of spatial integrated assessment to analyse the economic impact of global warming. 👉The authors find that while important progress has been made in developing dynamic climate assessment models, much work remains to be done.
