It's my 3 month anniversary with Veezu and I am not sure where the time has gone! Some of the highlights! - 11 accepted offers and plenty more interviews running! 🎉 - 142 interviews completed (85 hours and 15 minutes of interviewing). 😮💨 - Our super team (Catrin, Alex, Hatty, Kate, Lois, Kelsey, Ben, Shaun)! 🦸♂️🦸♀️ - Speaking to awesome global talent about joining Veezu. 🚕 - 2 lovely holidays with more to come! (is this work life balance?). 🏖️ - More Welsh cakes! 🐲 (I know it's not red it's the best I could do). - Our shiny, new and fancy ATS. 👨💻 - Seeing the impact proper recruitment processes are having internally! 📈 - Seeing how far we've come already as a recruitment team! 🔥 - Samuel Raciti's sons said I was cool. 😎 I was really anxious to make the jump to internal but I'm so glad I did. That list is not exhaustive and I could go on! Change is tough sometimes and I really didn't know what to expect but 3 months down the line I can happily say it's been incredible. Definitely been some learning curves and a few changes of thinking and approach from my Agency days but it's great to be learning and growing. Feeling very settled and welcome in the business and very exciting for what the future holds! Here's to the next anniversary! 🍻 PS. if you're reading this wondering about making a change in your life, take the plunge!! #internalrecruitment #talent #hiring #technology #coolguy

Happy new week fam. When hiring, it's easy to get caught up in checking boxes for required skills and experience. But let's not forget that technical skills are just the foundation. To build a truly high-performing team, you need individuals who possess essential soft skills like approachability, a growth mindset, and a willingness to collaborate. Traits like humility, active listening, and a desire to help others are just as crucial for long-term success. By prioritizing these qualities, you'll build a stronger, more cohesive team that drives results, fosters a positive work culture, and supports each other's growth. Don't just hire for skills; hire for the qualities that will make your team thrive. #hiring #teamwork #softskills #leadership #culture

One of the hardest things to deal with in a new job - not knowing the lingo and the domain. When joining a company, as in my case with Co-op, you are entering an entirely new business domain with it's own acronyms, abbreviations, domain-specific models and organisational structure. It is very easy to feel massively out of your depth and convince yourself that you know nothing. I'm guilty of convincing myself that the 13+ years I have in the industry just fly out of the window as soon as I change roles, which we all know is nonsense. I'm currently experiencing these struggles as I onboard into my new role, but at no fault of the company. This is just my mind telling me that I'm walking through unchartered territory, so cautiously I proceed to explore it at a pace that makes sense so not as to overwhelm my brain. In fact, the onboarding process at Co-op has been one of my best in the industry to date, with a great Miro board of activities for me to do as well as the usual corporate training videos. If you're in a similar position and have just started a new role, go easy on yourself. - You can't know the domain yet, you only just started. - You can't know everybody yet, you only just started. - You can't get deeply involved in all conversations yet, you only just started. Open those doors, learn new things, take your time. #newjob #onboarding #softwareengineer (Photo by Filip Kominik on Unsplash)

Today is my last day at Employ and as I reflect back on these past few months, I’m filled with gratitude for the lessons learned. Shoutout to all the amazing people I’ve met and to those who will continue to be apart of my journey from here on out - you know who you are. Hey everyone! I was just thinking...... As I navigate my career, I’ve come to realize just how important it is for companies to truly embrace their new hires. Here’s what I think should be at the heart of this process: 1. Connect on a Personal Level It’s not just about skills—getting to know someone personally is key. Casual chats about dreams and goals help new hires bring their authentic selves to work, which is when the real magic happens. 2. Welcome with Open Arms Making that first impression count is so important! A warm welcome can make a world of difference for a new team member, helping them feel at home from day one. 3. Listen to Them I believe in the power of listening. When companies take the time to hear their new hires, it not only makes them feel valued but also opens the door to fresh ideas. 4. Value Their Opinions Every perspective matters! Engaging in conversations that respect their ideas—even if they need some tweaking—can lead to some amazing innovations. 5. Create Space for Growth It’s essential for new hires to have room to explore their strengths. When they have the freedom to carve out their own space, it sparks creativity and confidence. When creative individuals are nurtured and supported, they produce incredible results. Let’s foster an environment where everyone can thrive and feel like they truly belong! Cheers to embracing new talent! 💖 #NewBeginnings #WelcomeTalent #EmployeeEngagement #ListenAndLearn #ValueIdeas #CreateSpace #PersonalConnection #FosterCreativity #TeamCulture #EmbraceDiversity #InclusiveWorkplace #SupportAndThrive #CareerGrowth #NewHireExperience #WorkplaceWellbeing

Asking questions on your first day of work can help you learn more about your role, your team, and your company. It can also show your enthusiasm, curiosity, and initiative. Here are some examples of questions you can ask on your first day of work: • What are the main goals and priorities for my position in the next few months? • Who are the key people I should get to know and collaborate with? • What are some of the common challenges or difficulties that someone in my role might face? • How do you handle conflict or disagreement within the team or with other stakeholders? It's always good to learn about your teammates and employer from the get-go. #NewJobInquiries #OnboardingQueries #StartingStrongQuestions #GlobalMobility #GlobalEmployees
