To my contacts with only 20 spaces to go can we see if we can get a few to sponsor some spaces at this event looking at Black women in policing led by Karen Geddes QPM BA (Hons) This conference in Birmingham will create an environment where Black women's talents, unique experiences, and perspectives are acknowledged, respected, and valued. They will discuss: - Why is there such a disparity of Black women in senior leadership roles compared to their white counterparts by reviewing and analysing data - How does this impact Black women and how can they be supported to survive and thrive in this workplace culture? - Does addressing racism and sexism include the experiences of Black women? - What are the implications and impact of a lack of Black women diversity for organisations such as the police? - How do we celebrate and give a voice to those Black women who have completed 30 years of service? Tagging a few people hoping you can share to your networks 🙏🏽. Sal Naseem FRSA Craig Pinkney Sayce Holmes-Lewis Annie A Gibbs Ayesha Fordham Dr Kelly Henderson CIHCM Sandra Pollock OBE MA

🏛️Join the #civility pledge movement initiated by Mayor Marianne Meed Ward (C.Dir.). Details: https://lnkd.in/gAF6t7xC We pledge to: 1. Support each other and call out #abuse and #harassment when we see it or experience it; 2. Call on all our allies to stand with us to support women in office and call out all forms of abuse and harassment; 3. Call on all elected officials to uphold the highest standards of conduct, focusing on #respectful debate of the issues and not personal attacks; 4. Call on the relevant authorities to ensure the protection of individuals who speak out against abuse, or who experience abuse, providing them with the necessary support and resources.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to and signed the H.E.R. Halton pledge back in May to end harassment of women in government. We have started a movement -- with the pledge being picked up nationally by the Canadian Association of Feminist Parliamentarians! We are now working on what are our next steps and intend to open up our original H.E.R. pledge and invite any elected officials who want to sign on to reach out to my office. We will keep a rolling update, including on my website. If any elected official hasn't done so and would like to, please let us know and we'll add new names as they come in. I also encourage elected officials to reach out to their own networks of women to include anyone who wishes to participate. Learn more and read a copy of the CAFP pledge here: https://lnkd.in/gda7d5zK

Thought Partner for Entrepreneurs and Professionals seeking clarity so that they can thrive. On the flip side, helping employers create more inclusive workplaces. Let's book a virtual chat!
RARE in-person speaking event coming up! About 15 years ago, a woman I worked with made compelling arguments about why attending International Women's Day (IWD) events was so important; which is a story for another day... Since then I've made a point of being present for at least one IWD each year. This year, I'm honoured to be one of the speakers at the Town of Gananoque's "Empowering Women in a DigitALL Age" IWD event. I'll be sharing success stories of women entrepreneurs who live and work in Canada. Because when you experience stories of people you can relate to, then you can imagine navigating your own path to success. The vast majority of my speaking gigs are delivered online, and limited to specific groups of people. While I rarely speak in public, I thoroughly enjoy the experience! Especially when people ask questions. I'm looking forward to returning to the beautiful and welcoming town of Gananoque, to share some of what I know, while learning from the fabulous speakers and guests. The Eventbrite link for this free 3.5 hour event will be in the comments! ------------------- A bit about me - I share tactics and strategies employers may choose to implement to create more IDEAL jobs. On the flip side, I love helping you create and discover your ideal jobs, by teaching strategies and tactics that you can use over, and over, and over, again. I invite you to start a Thought Partner chat, follow the link in my profile to book a virtual 30 minute chat or send me a direct message here. #ShareLearnThrive – when we share what we know, and learn from each other, we can all find ways to thrive.

We must look both “upstream” – at advocating for change on an institutional level – and “downstream” – at what we can do as individuals to help women secure the care they need. https://lnkd.in/g-emQ7wX

Words I shared a couple of weeks ago require repeating.... Voting is one of the earliest advisory roles one can take on in adulthood and in life. The political process starts with you. The voter. The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. national get out the vote campaign highlights a few of the key reasons exercising or right to vote should be of utmost importance to not just be but to you as well. No matter where you live, be sure to get out and vote in every election. #oellc #DeltasVote #VoteForChange
Unveiled at #DDNC2024, we proudly launched a national get-out-the-vote campaign. A lot is at stake: the right to vote, choose, and learn our history. What's next? Born from our legacy of advancing women's lives and strengthening our nation, today, we face our 1913 moment—where hard-earned rights are threatened. It's time for action. Stand up, engage, organize, and speak out. Vote 🗳️ ✊🏾 Let's change the world together. Stay tuned. 📺 🖥️ #DST1913 #DeltasVote #EmpowerHerFuture

It’s the words I live by and put into action every day. Whether it’s lifting up other women, sitting on the board of Women in Defense Michigan Chapter, Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), or drawing attention to the inequalities we face daily. We need to support each other because we’re stronger together. Let’s set an example for the next generation. #womensupportingwomen #genderequality
