Renowned Thoroughbred Bloodstock Agent & Pedigree Analyst | Specializing in Racehorse Performance Optimization & Strategic Investments | Expert Insights on Pedigree & Mating Analysis
Today I'll show you how to develop analytical skills for thoroughbred investment. Like all of you, I started at zero in 1988. Back then, I didn't know how to analyze pedigrees, race records or market trends. But, over time, I mastered these skills by making mistakes, learning from them and taking deliberate steps to improve. Looking back, if I was to start at zero today, here's what I'd do: Step 1: Learn the Basics of Pedigree Analysis - Study the pedigrees of successful racehorses - Understand key bloodlines and their traits - Learn to identify strengths and weaknesses in pedigrees Step 2: Analyze Race Records Reviewing race records helps assess a horse's past performance, which is crucial for investment decisions. Step 3: Monitor Market Trends Finally, stay informed about market trends. - Follow industry news and sales reports - Network with experienced investors and breeders - Attend auctions to understand pricing dynamics It's not easy, but it is simple.

what we're up to We've taken the chance to enjoy the summer weather (when possible!) and spending time with friends and family. So far, Michelle has had a fab day at the races (with crayfish and smoked snapper for snacks... how good!) and also spent some time at Little Waihi. Share some of your holiday snaps in the comments - we'd love to see what you've been up to! 😃 . . #movenp #makeyourbestmove #bestmove #newplymouthproperty #newplymouthrealestate

Besides the fact of getting the core out intact is the obvious factor of designing grade changes by lifting the track 2’ plus….

LIFE IS A RELAY Life is like a relay race, where we pass the baton of knowledge, wisdom, and values to the next generation. Just as athletes rely on their teammates to complete the race, we rely on our children to carry on our legacy. As parents, we start the race, sprinting with enthusiasm and energy. We lay the foundation, setting the pace and direction for our children to follow. But as we run, we know that our time is limited, and soon we must pass the baton to the next runner. Our children are the next runners, waiting eagerly to receive the baton and continue the race. They look up to us, their eyes fixed on the prize, ready to learn and grow. We must trust them, believe in them, and empower them to take the baton and run with it. Just as a smooth baton pass is crucial in a relay race, a seamless transition from one generation to the next is vital in life. We must communicate effectively, share our experiences, and guide them with wisdom. We must also let go, allowing them to take ownership and make their own decisions. As our children run with the baton, they will stumble, they will face obstacles, and they will make mistakes. But that is where we, as parents, come in – to encourage, to support, and to cheer them on. The relay race of life is not just about passing the baton; it's about the journey we take together. It's about the values we instill, the love we share, and the memories we create. When we pass the baton to the next generation, we pass on a piece of ourselves, and that is the greatest legacy of all. So let us run our leg of the race with purpose and passion, and when the time comes, let us pass the baton with confidence and faith. For in doing so, we ensure that the next generation will run with the wisdom, courage, and heart to finish the race and start a new one.

Such an interesting way to look at the desired line. A common example of desired line is foot traffic where people will find shortcuts that best fit them and their needs. We can see the evidence of this as dirt paths that divert away from the sidewalk. When it’s snowing, we get the ability to see how vehicles really use the road. In behavioral economics this is called revealed preference, where people make decisions that maximize their utility or their time.
Happy snow day, New York! It's been a record 701 days since our last day with more than inch of snow, so it's been a while since we've seen "sneckdowns" on our streets. What's a sneckdown? It's where the snow has narrowed the road and calmed traffic — and it highlights where we should build future bike corrals, seating, turn calming, and more.

Have you ever been lost on a trail system? It’s no fun… A robust signage plan is often l one of the most overlooked aspects while budgeting and planning for a trail system. The International Mountain Bicycling Association does a great job demonstrating proper trail signage in this short video. #outdoorinfrastructure

A journey of 2,300+ miles begins with a single step. We took our first step in Team Bloomfield Cruisers participation in the 2024 Great Race. As you may recall, Steven Martino and I, with a lot of help from our great support team, successfully participated in the 2022 Great Race in my 1972 Corvette which began in Rhode Island and ended on North Dakota. Shortly upon our return, Steve purchased this very cool 1931 Ford Model A Victoria for our next adventure. We took off this year so we can be well-prepared for our next experience which begins next June in Kentucky and will finish in Maine. Last week, the car was shipped to Massachusetts to get race-ready by Model A experts. We expect to have the car back next spring followed by extensive practice sessions. As we did last year, we ask our friends to support our efforts by donating to our Bloomfield High School student to Universal Technical Institute Scholarship (100% of the proceeds goes toward this effort). How it works: Each day the driver and navigator team, Carlos & Steve, respectively, receive a set of course instructions that indicate every turn, speed change, stop, and start that the team must make throughout the day (usually 220 to 250 such instructions per day). Along the course route there will be from 4 to 7 checkpoints recording the exact time that the team passes that point. The objective is to arrive at each checkpoint at the correct time, not the fastest. The score for each team is the result of the team’s ability to follow the designated course instructions precisely. Every second off the perfect time (early or late) at each checkpoint is a penalty point. This format is much more mentally demanding than a flat-out cross-country race. Also, GPS or computers are not permitted and odometers are taped over. This is a test of human mental agility and endurance as well as classic car endurance, rather than programming capability. The course avoids timed segments on interstate highways, opting instead for scenic local, county, and state highways whenever possible through some of the prettiest country in the United States. Be sure to follow us on the Bloomfield Cruisers and Great Race Car 74 social media pages. More to follow soon. #bloomfieldcruisers #greatrace #greatracecar74
