This year has brought a lot of uncertainty with most of our work in the forestry sector being cancelled and pushed off until a date to be determined. We had to make some strategic moves to diversify quickly which means learning a lot in a short period of time! Our team has stepped up in a huge way and it’s because of them that we were able to thrive in these unprecedented times. One of the ways we show appreciation is company lunches every month and as you can see, we were kicking off Canada Day long weekend by enjoying amazing food thanks to the Specialty Bakery at 833 Finns Rd. THROWBACK THURSDAY! 😁 We are only looking back to 2023 this week! In May last year, we were lucky enough to be a part of the Forestry Corporation of New South Wales project to deliver saw logs by rail to bushfire-impacted sawmills in the snowy regions 🙌🏼 All together, we manufactured a total of 320 rail bolsters that were fitted onto container flats to transport the logs 🪵 Forestry Corporation NSW delivering 270,000 tonnes of logs by rail to these effected sawmills over a three year period. Using rails is a more environmentally friendly approach as this method of transport will save up to three million litres of diesel, plus it minimises the impact on the road network 🤓 #KennedyTrailers #AustralianMade #logging #logtrain #ThrowbackThursday

🚨 Did you know that illegal logging can account for up to 90% of forestry activities in key tropical forest regions? Maintaining traceability is vital in mitigating legality risks. Timber composite products, such as plywood boards, often contain layers from various tree species, sourced from different forest concessions and even different countries. Ensuring traceability for each element throughout the supply chain, documented before mixing, is essential. If full traceability cannot be achieved, timber importers should opt to gain more information from tools like the Timber Sourcing Hub by Preferred by Nature, where importers can identify high-risk areas in timber sourcing.
