When asked "Can you tell me a bit about yourself?", you should provide a brief summary of your professional background, relevant skills, and career achievements. Try and focus on aspects that are directly related to the job you are interviewing for, and highlight your passion and interest for the industry. Additionally, you can mention personal interests or hobbies that demonstrate your well-rounded nature. Keep the response concise and engaging, no longer than 3-5 minutes, aiming to leave a positive impression on the interviewer. 💥 #tipstuesday #interviewtips

I made a mistake during a job interview once. I’ll share a short version of the story. The hiring manager asked me👇🏻 Why are you interested in the role? I responded👇🏻 I want to gain management experience... Can you spot the issue? It’s all about ME. Instead, it should focus on the value I'd bring to the company. Here’s another scenario. The hiring manager asked: Can you tell me about your marketing experience? Me-centric response: I wrote case studies, blog articles, and social media posts for brands. Company-centric response: My team and I generated $X in revenue from marketing campaigns. I did this by writing... Can you spot the better response? Use a company-centric response to tell hiring managers why you’d excel in the potential role. Your accomplishments will shine through those responses. 🌟

Instead of asking candidates "Tell me about yourself" in an interview, ask one of these instead: Why do you do what you do? What did you want to be when you were growing up? How did you get from there (Yankee pitcher or ballerina) to here? What’s most important to you in your next job or organization? What will you need to see or hear to believe we would be the right choice for you? What did you enjoy the most about your previous or current role? Tell me something that I wouldn't find on your resume. What influenced you to be interested in a role like this one? Which of your values do you feel align with our company? What would you say your personal vision is? 👋🏽 Hi! If you're new here, I'm Keosha, your partner in your journey from ideation to action. Brand Manager | I help businesses with Strategic Content marketing to increase their Revenue & Online visibility
I was hiring for 2 roles in the last month, Head of Partnerships and Video Producers, Most of the applicants seemed to have glanced past the job title, hence were not a fit for the role. Some had five-page CV's, no-shows at interviews, not knowing about the company, weak communication, it made me pause. I've been on both sides of the hiring table. I understand the eagerness, and sometimes the desperation. But here's a truth that extends beyond the job market: The way you do anything is the way you do everything. This isn't just about securing a job. It's about how you present yourself , How you communicate with dignity, respect—for yourself first and foremost. As someone deeply intuitive, and in my role as a hiring manager, I don't just read applications. I read people. The small efforts, the little details—they speak volumes. They reflect your values. To those seeking opportunities: Make your first impressions count. Show respect for the role, for the company, and most importantly, for yourself. P.S. Ever noticed how the smallest effort can make the biggest difference? I'd love to hear about a time when a small detail made a big impact in your life or career.
