Are (vegetarian) Köttbullar and eMobility a good match? (Spoiler: I'd say yes, but...) 🌱⚡️ It's Saturday morning, since the little one has grown, we need to buy a new bed for him. Where should we go? Our choice: IKEA. Why? It's just a no brainer. Besides lots of clever Scandinavian design ideas, kid friendly exhibition areas and an in-house restaurant, they also offer free #EVcharging on their parking area. In theory it should be easy: park, plug in your #EV, charge, shop, eat, return, unplug - in reality we had to wait for a while until a charging point became available, as the four available EV parking spaces where just not enough to meet the demand. Dear Ikea-team, it's really great that you offer free EV charging! But, in line with a raising number of #ElectricVehicle drivers, also the number of available charging points needs to increase accordingly. What would be my recommendation from a customer and private EV driver perspective? For an even better #CustomerExperience, I'd recommend to install more #EVchargers and - in case you target a return of investment - to partner up with one of many eMobility service providers (#MSP) available in Germany. What's the point of collaborating with an eMSP? They take your end-user management to the next level, by providing a seamless charging experience and access to a vast charging network across EU based on a pay-per-use model. Monta, Spirii, Elli - A Brand of the Volkswagen Group or CHARGE NOW are just a few well-known charging partners that offer #eRoaming services (for further details see the eMobility Excellence report from June 2023: https://lnkd.in/dWMMxxfY). In summary, big kudos to IKEA for supporting the transition to #ElectricVehicles. As a next step, more #ChargingPoints and smart user management are required to further improve the #CX.

If you’re a retailer with a parking lot, offering #electricvehicle charging stations can attract new customers and incentivize consumer spending. But there’s only one retailer with chargers at more than a third of its U.S. locations, according to a new study from Consumer Reports (CR). Case Study: IKEA Transition to an Electric Fleet 💡I came across an interesting case study report about IKEA today and want to share some insights with you. 🔌In March 2019, IKEA Australia 🇦🇺 set an ambitious goal to transition its entire fleet to EVs by 2025. The company established a phased approach, targeting a 5% EV rollout in FY19, 10% in FY20, and achieving 100% by FY25. This commitment aligns with IKEA’s global sustainability objectives and drive to reduce carbon emissions. Pilot Results The pilot program, involving three customised electric trucks for IKEA’s last-mile deliveries, yielded several key benefits: 🎯Zero Emissions: Each truck saves approximately 36 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide annually compared to diesel vehicles. 🎯Enhanced Capacity and Productivity: The lighter electric trucks increased payload capacity by 400kg – 500kg, allowing for more efficient transportation and more deliveries per run. 🎯Improved Health and Safety: The quiet, battery-powered engines reduce noise, vibration, and heat, enhancing driver comfort and reducing fatigue while also improving the last-mile delivery experience for customers. 2024 Update 🌱🚘In 2024, IKEA is expanding its global electric #fleet initiative, furthering its commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency. ✍️As you can see, even global solid market players are confidently moving to eMobility. If you’re considering implementing an electric fleet for your business, Electriqua offers reliable solutions to support your transition. 🚗Does your car influence your shopping decisions? Apparently, if you own an EV, it does. This is fascinating. 🛒A new survey of EV owners found that 61%, or 6-in-10, say they are more likely to shop somewhere with charging stations! (via CSA) EV owners surveyed are also twice more likely to shop at Ikea (1.8x) or Whole Foods (1.7x), both of which are leaders in offering EV charging stations. (via CSA) Other popular shopping destinations for EV owners: ▪️Sprouts Farmers Market ▪️Trader Joe's ▪️Costco ▪️Albertsons 🚨What do you think? Are EV charging stations and the EV customer profile something retail tenants and landlords need to increasingly start considering? Is it too soon to jump on the EV bandwagon? Or, does it depend on the retailer's customer profile? Given that Tesla just super slowed their charging station program, what does this mean for the EV charging world in the future? Let me know in the comments below. Read more here: https://bit.ly/45Oiqu7

Target's Car Seat Trade-in program is one of my favorite sustainability programs out there. It takes some pretty bulky, non-biodegradable material out of landfills and gives customers a 20% off coupon in return! -Gets customers into their stores -Offers something in return to motivate people, doesn't just rely on their goodwill -Gets the car seats to recyclers that can break them down and recycle the various materials. All in a program that seems to do some real good and they put some money on the line (20% off coupons) to make it work. It does make me think about how large the margins must be on baby gear for them to so freely hand out 20% off coupons. Just like the old Bed, Bath and Beyond model... If you have a car seat, next week is the time to bring it to Target to get your coupon (or give it to a friend who is just entering the baby gear cycle)! https://lnkd.in/dKS8ceu7
