INCLUSION WEDNESDAY IS BACK: Next Wednesday, 4th December, I will share my reflections on the relationship between nature and inclusion. I'll explore diverse interpretations of what the inclusion of nature means going beyond the traditional conflict/environment nexus discussed in our field. Together, we'll examine global challenges in light of COP24, highlight local initiatives, and amplify the voices of children and their unique perspectives. According to the UN, half of world population is 30 or younger and this is expected to increase by the end of 2030. This means it's essential to work with young people in order to achieve global goals. Young people are widely known as "digital natives " due to their ability to create solutions for global issues using technology. As we are reaching the deadline of the Agenda 2030, it is crucial to include, allow and empower youth to actively participate in global goals. In terms of empowering youth, I trust that we must create initiatives to include all youth especially, youth in vulnerable communities as they are vital for promoting awareness on global peace, climate change, human rights, and more. Yet, youth voices—especially from the Global South—were left feeling sidelined. Tokenistic inclusion, visa barriers, inaccessible language, and softened commitments on human rights reveal systemic gaps in accountability.
