What advice would you give to a Year 12 student about preparing themselves for the future?
Last week the Haileybury Careers team hosted the inaugural Future Ready Festival for our Senior School students. The Future Ready Festival connected students with industry experts, representatives from the Old Haileyburians Association (OHA), and tertiary institutions to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in an increasingly complex and competitive world. Students heard personal career narratives from OHA representatives, learned about various study areas, and explored emerging industry trends. These insights were invaluable for our students. The Future Ready Festival inspired our students to embrace new opportunities and look forward to their futures with confidence.

To sustain career pathways work, Career Technical Education (CTE) leaders must leverage existing funds as well as identify new funding streams to support the work for the long term. During the New Skills for Youth (NSFY) initiative, supported by national partners Advance CTE and Education Strategy Group and funded by JPMorganChase, state leaders leveraged Perkins V funding, incorporated initiatives into state budgets, secured private funding, and better aligned funding with program approval processes. Read more about how the six NSFY sites (Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin) featured in Moving Career Pathways Forward: Learning From the New Skills for Youth Initiative have braided funding to sustain their career pathways work here: https://lnkd.in/ey7u-y8E
