As we reflect on the month of March, traditionally celebrated as Women's History Month, it's vital to recognize that the legacies of remarkable women, especially those from BIPOC communities, are not confined to any single month. The contributions of these women are woven into the fabric of our daily lives, shaping the society we live in, the freedoms we enjoy, and the innovations that propel us forward. Yet, too often, the stories of these trailblazers remain unsung, their achievements tucked away in the footnotes of history. It is not enough to honor these women with a fleeting acknowledgment; their legacies deserve to be integrated into the mainstream narrative, celebrated and remembered 24/7, for their impact transcends time and is felt in countless ways, every single day. The challenge we face is not merely one of remembrance but of active recognition and amplification. It is up to us—educators, leaders, parents, peers—to ensure that the tales of BIPOC women who have contributed to our collective progress are told and retold. These women, from scientists to activists, from inventors to pioneers in arts and culture, have not only shaped their respective fields but have also paved the way for future generations to dream bigger and reach further. Let us challenge ourselves and others to provide space for these stories, not just in our history books but in our conversations and platforms. By doing so, we acknowledge the undeniable truth that our combined success is built on the diverse and powerful contributions of all individuals, particularly those who have had to overcome the greatest barriers to leave their indelible mark on our world. #womenshistorymonth #ourfacesourvoices

I had the honor to host a breakout session on one of my favorite topics - NetGiving - fostering meaningful connections and genuine relationships and offering resources, advice, or guidance without expecting immediate transactions in return. There was great vulnerability and generosity in the group. What insights, resources, or words of wisdom can you share? Let's build a supportive community together! - Tomorrow is my last day (involuntary) at work. How do I leave with grace and remark on the next chapter with success? - I’ve been applying to internships and none have accepted me yet, any advice? - I’m a recent grad, and I’m not feeling accomplished at all because despite earning my degree, I haven’t found work, and I’m not sure I’m clear on my career path.  - I’ve been trying to break into the entertainment industry and am hitting dead ends. Last but not least, Nancy Maloney, director of insight & strategy, wraps up our series featuring the women at C-K who were on our Women's History Month panel. Nancy on who inspires her: "I admire the many women out there rejecting the scarcity narrative—the dated and unproductive notion that there is only so much space for us and that we must compete with each other for crumbs. I admire women telling our stories and taking up space. Not pretending NOT to be interested in things that are interesting to us. Not pretending to be ok with things that are not ok. I admire all the women who are committed to changing the narrative, changing the game, and ultimately changing the world. One human, one story, one action at a time."

As we near the end of 2023, it’s important for business owners to take time to take a step back and reflect on this past year. Analyze what worked, what didn’t, what you need to do more of and what you need to do less of. Be strategic in your 2024 planning and take the lessons you learned from 2023 with you during that planning period.
