Making things happen #3 Each month I am offering a short chat with women in business to discuss their growth plans. Last Friday I met with Lisa-Marie Jones - she has a small cleaning business called Fairy Godmother Cleaning Services in the Morecambe area. We talked about customer retention, seeking new customers and expanding the business, (new services, new sectors, new regions,) all concepts for any business big or small. I also discussed the value of having people in her promotional photos. Lisa is about to launch her new website so we discussed the importance on having regular up-to-date content and using key words in all of her website copy. Lisa is keen to grow her business and employ people so I stressed that knowing her customer journey and where her customers come from is critical if she is going to commit to permanent staff. The other takeaway was that Lisa's customer contact details are simply "on her phone" so I stressed that a simple client database would help to keep these details safe and use them to gauge how the business can grow. "so what if you lost your phone?" A great really insightful hour for both me and Lisa. Many thanks to the The Growing Club CIC for helping me to make things happen.
