Accomplishing my goals fills me with a sense of empowerment and motivates me to strive for even greater success.
Today, I attended the Women Automotive Network Winter Meetup moderated by Imogen Bhogal (Pierce), and I'm still buzzing from the energy and insights shared. The diversity of speakers, spanning various ages and experiences, highlighted the unique hurdles women face in this dynamic field. The main insights: It's about being bold, authentic, and supportive. Whether it's being clear about your ambitions, investing in your personal growth, or taking calculated risks, each step is a leap towards progress. What truly resonates is the emphasis on collaboration over competition. By supporting and uplifting each other, we create a powerful network that drives change. Remember, your confidence is not just a reflection of your competence but a beacon that guides your path. It's about setting boundaries, being resilient, and above all, being true to yourself and your goals. Let's create a space where every woman in the automotive industry feels empowered to drive forward. 🌟#WinterMeetup #WomenAutomotiveNetwork #Bettertogether #Empowerment #CareerGrowth

Empowering Insights: Optibus' Women's Day Panel Sheds Light on Workplace Challenges and the Path Forward In today's professional landscape, the hurdles women encounter remain significant, yet solutions often lie in the perspectives of those directly affected. Recognizing this, Optibus was inspired when our "Women in Transport" group initiated the idea of a panel discussion for International Women's Day. Led and moderated by Yael Masin, Katerina Kampouri, and Georgina Steadman, the session delved into real experiences from our female staff, tackling restrictive stereotypes, discrimination, and harassment — issues that, while disproportionately affecting women and minorities, have the potential to impact anyone in our workplace. The panel served as a poignant reminder that while many of the experiences discussed occurred outside of Optibus, they offer invaluable lessons on where and how we can strive for improvement within our own company. At Optibus, our resolve is firm: to cultivate a work environment where such challenges are not just addressed but eradicated. This commitment was mirrored in our panel, a forum that welcomed all employees and facilitated a sharing of impactful, eye-opening stories. It highlighted how critical support is — not just in overcoming these challenges but in fostering an inclusive, empowering workplace culture. The takeaways from this panel were clear and compelling: support is not just necessary; it's transformative. And the responsibility to offer this support lies with each of us. Together, let's continue to support, uplift, and empower. Happy Women's Day! Here's to making a difference, together. #WomensDay #InternationalWomensDay #GenderEquality

As Cheryl Thompson, DEI Champion for Automotive, says in this latest video series from the Automotive Women's Alliance Foundation, we should question why we introduce or refer to women with certain "pre-qualifying" statements. For example: "Actually, she is a great engineer ... for a woman." "You know ... for a woman ... she is a great writer." There isn't a need for phrases like "actually," "you know," or "for a woman." If we don't introduce men the same way, then why women? These may appear as insignificant sayings, but at the end of the day, they tremendously impact the women around us. For women who need encouragement, and for men who want to learn more, I cannot recommend this series enough, produced by In Altum Productions and Axel Cooley✨✨ These are the first videos in the Breaking Barriers series from AWAF, but more will be released. In these first two videos, we hear from Ashwini Balasubramanian and Kim Ziomek alongside Thompson. We share in their journey and understand more about what we can do to support the women in our lives. Today, I want to speak about the importance of women knowing their worth, especially in the automotive trade. For too long, women have been seen as a checkbox exercise, included for the sake of diversity and inclusion rather than for their undeniable skills and contributions. It's time for that to change. Women in the automotive industry bring unique perspectives, innovative solutions, and unmatched dedication. However, it's not enough to simply include women; we must also value and respect their expertise. Women should never feel compelled to offer their skills for free or be taken advantage of under the guise of inclusivity. Recognize your worth. Demand fair compensation for your work, and never settle for anything less. Your knowledge and talents are not just valuable—they are essential to the growth and evolution of this industry. I speak from personal experience over the past few months, where I have been asked to take part in events at my own expense to benefit someone else’s idea or business. Needless to say - i have turned them down! Let’s ensure that diversity and inclusion are not mere buzzwords, but a true reflection of respect and equality. Together, we can create a future where every woman in the automotive trade is recognized for her worth, and where her contributions are celebrated and fairly rewarded. Thank you. #WomenInAutomotive #KnowYourWorth #WomenInTheTrade #DiversityInclusion #RespectAndEquality #WomenInMotorsports #EmpoweredWomen #BreakingBarriers #InclusionMatters #WomenInEngineering #EqualOpportunities #GenderEquality #WomenInTrades #FemaleMechanics #DiverseAndInclusive #WomenEmpowerment #WomenInTech #WomenWhoWrench #RespectWomen #WomenLeaders
