If you know me, you know I LOVE swag.
My heart beats for swag.
My soul longs for swag.
What's even better than swag?
A study on the importance of swag (plus more swag).
Postal officially launched their State of Swag report last week and it's packed with goodies.
Did you know the QUALITY of the item is the most important part of the swag?
I will write this out again because y'all need to hear me.
The QUALITY of the item is the most important part of the swag.
Some additional findings:
People also prefer to choose their own swag from options
70% of people use swag every single week or more
I highly encourage you to check out the report. It's a must read.
Unpopular Opinion: I HATE Swag Bags
At least the traditional kinds. You know the ones—same three items with the brand's name on them that no one wants or will ever use. It's wasteful, unsustainable, and doesn't reflect your company's true intentions.
Instead, let's think creatively about giving meaningful, sustainable gifts that people will genuinely appreciate and use. It's time to elevate our swag game and make a positive impact!
One of our favorite gifting opportunities was providing an experience for one of our clients. We provided tickets to a local festival and an Uber gift card. Simple, expressive, and tailored to our clients' tastes.

Attend stand-ups.
Every stand-up is an opportunity.
An opportunity to listen and learn:
- to better understand tech infrastructure and initiatives
- to learn how the team is progressing
- to make sure you’re aware of complexities in dev work as well as QA work
- to see if any questions come up (and give/find answers)
- to learn if someone is blocked (and help unblock)
- to understand considerations and findings in QA that be easy to miss from the Jira comments filling your inbox
An opportunity to get help:
- ask about whether a new scenario adds scope and needs a ticket (and grooming, etc)
- to understand the complexity of how data will be funneled for a pilot (and whether a spike is needed)
- to see if the UI for feature A will be ready by sprint 9.2 so analytics can pick instrumentation for Adobe shortly after
- to understand the feasibility of an A/B test
- to ask about an internal user’s unexpected experience and whether the spike ticket can be taken up in this sprint
An opportunity to share:
- to share the input from a driving team (which we are collaborating with) whether a certain use case is small enough to be left out of the MVP or should be considered in the first launch
- to share the rationale for why a pilot may be needed for Feature B launch
- to share user research, business input, design feedback, and upcoming considerations
Thank you Kartika Tangirala , Anusha Gannamaneni , Venkate, Shashi, Paras (all of whom I’ll tag properly soon) for giving me the opportunity to join and participate in our team’s stand-ups. I find them invaluable. <3

There is a parallel between stand-ups at work and dinner at home. Just like I believe stand-ups ate important - so too, dinners are important.
Today’s dinner was an opportunity: one to share a challenge. Today I challenged my 7 year old, Ethan, to try some spinach with his home-made taco bowl.
Turns out that he liked his new spinach-enhanced taco bowl so much that it is not only better than Taco Bell, it’s also better than ice cream and chocolate. A literal 10 out of 10.
So, don’t forget:
Attend stand-ups.
Attend dinners.
Much love for you on your career journey.
👑 We’ve crowned our Swag Awards winners from SaaStr 2024! 👑
At Postal, we believe swag should be more than just a giveaway. That’s why we're all about celebrating brands that take the time to design high-quality, thoughtful, and useful swag that attendees actually want to keep.
This year at SaaStr, we teamed up with Leslie Barrett to highlight some brands leading the charge in memorable swag!
Here’s a shoutout to our winners, based on what we learned from our State of Swag study:
🏆 Alysio: Attendees were raving about their ultra-comfy sweatshirts! The subtle logo and premium feel gave their swag station the look of a high-end boutique.
🏆 ChurnZero: Who doesn’t love swag for themselves, or something they can give to others? Their plush toy monster and bandana were thoughtful, multi-use items for attendees, their furry friends, or children!
🏆 Fidelity Private Shares: A custom cartoonist drew event attendees on the spot—talk about creating an experience! It wasn’t just swag; it was a personalized keepsake that attendees could cherish long after the event.
Our takeaway? Quality and utility matter more than ever when it comes to swag! These brands nailed it. 👏
#SageTransform is just around the corner! 📈 We're excited to share insights on how #SpreadsheetServer can enhance and expedite your reporting from Sage. Visit us at booth #55 to discover more about our solutions.

Anybody else suffering in the waterfall-style Christmas prep framework? 🙋♀️
Planning begins months in advance, implementation follows for weeks and weeks, and wrapping is an all-nighter the day before release... 🎁 😪
I need to find a way to deliver Christmas iteratively. 🤔 😆
We love a snack pack, especially one that breaks the mould in both flavour and style! This curated swag kit comes in three variations, depending on your budget, but each is filled to the brim with treats and treasures, perfect for employee celebrations, events, and, well, anything really. There's never a bad time for edible merch.
