Today Governor Healey laid out the administration’s bold agenda to make early education and child care more affordable and accessible for all families across Massachusetts, which includes: - Delivering universal, high-quality preschool access for four-year-olds in all Gateway Cities by the end of 2026. - Increasing Child Care Financial Assistance eligibility from 50% of the state median income (SMI) to 85% SMI to help an additional 4,000 low-and moderate-income families afford care. - Continuing Commonwealth Cares for Children (C3) grants in FY25. - Signing an executive order to recognize the essential role child care plays in driving the state’s economy and competitiveness forward and directing the Healey-Driscoll administration to take a whole-of-government approach to ensuring affordable, high-quality child care. Most research on access to child care and early education (CCEE) has not accounted for what families search for, prefer, and need. In this video from our research partner Child Trends, four parents describe their experiences finding CCEE. Their stories help bring the four dimensions of the “Multi-Dimensional Framework of Access to Child Care and Early Education” to life: reasonable effort, affordability, supports children’s development, and meets parents’ needs. It shows how important all four of the dimensions are and how parents think about them when finding care for their children. We've all heard stories of children missing developmental growth opportunities due to a lack of early learning and childcare options. Others haven't received the support they need because fragmented state data hinders access. These are just a few examples of how incomplete data translates to missed opportunities for young children. Our Child Universal Success Platform (CUSP) can help change this narrative for children. It provides a holistic view, empowering agencies to proactively identify children in need and connect them with the right resources at the right time. Ready to make a difference? Schedule your personalized CUSP demo today, at www.team3si.com/calendar and see how we can help! #ChildSuccess #DataDriven #ChildAdvocacy #3Si

Founder @ Business of Child Care | Impactful Solutions for Child Care Businesses and the Communities they Serve
So excited to share about meeting #StevensCounty Commissioner Kopitzke and County Administrator Becky Young . We talked about their awesome work in making over 60 new spots for family child care in Stevens County, MN. Here’s what really stuck with me: 1. #NewGround: There’s so much still to learn about multi-unit child care spaces. It’s exciting to keep learning! 2. #TeamworkRocks: Having a strong team makes a huge difference. This project showed just how true that is. 3. #BigImpact: In this process, they’ve identified eight people who wanted to start child care but didn’t have the space. This shows there’s a big chance to do more for our communities. I appreciated the opportunity to build more knowledge to help support the communities we’re helping guide through similar processes to create new space for child care. This work shows how creating spaces can really help our communities grow stronger. Let's keep pushing and making things better, one step at a time! #Childcare #Rural #EconomicDevelopment

Did you know Child Care Aware of America developed an interactive tool to help you track child care and early childhood education policies, funding allocations, and ballot measures across the nation? The dashboard allows researchers and advocates to learn how states are building more equitable, accessible, and affordable child care systems. #ECE #childcare

Our research shows 23% of parents experienced child care restraints (problems getting child care which make it different to work or study). We also found that 35% of parents experiencing child care restraints were unable to work or work more hours, 6% were unable to attend classes, and 23% were constrained in both work and studies. Worse health outcomes, like maternal depression, lower school readiness for children, and increased chance of developmental delays and family food insecurity were present in families experiencing child care restraints. We need to increase accessibility to child care programs to lower child care restraints. #childcare #healthcare #affordablechildcare #headstart
