In today's Bee-Smart Wednesday, we focus on the 'K' in beekeeping, representing the 'Kenya Top Bar Hive'. Kenya Top Bar Hive, commonly referred to as KTBH, is a wedge-shaped modern beehive with top bars instead of frames. It has two compartments - super and brood - separated by a queen excluder. The Kenya Top Bar Hive (KTBH) is a popular choice among beekeepers in Kenya as an alternative to Langstroth beehives. This is due to the hive's simplicity and affordability.
